Hope you all had a wonderful Memorial Day weekend (the Americans at least). Happy Memorial Day to all my friends and family who are currently serving or have served our country. You guys are amazing.
I had a wonderful weekend because some great things happened.
I spent a bunch of time with my mom this weekend and that made me really happy. There were some moments of conversation about the upcoming surgery and funerals that I wish I could have skipped, but overall it was great. I love being able to see my mom on the weekends. Having lunch with her on the weekends is one of my favorite parts of the week.
Another benefit of spending time with my mom is coming away with borrowed cookbooks! My mom is a great cook and always trying out new cookbooks, especially healthy ones. She just got this 400 calorie fix book and cookbook so she let me borrow it.
I flipped through this before I borrowed it and thought the material and recipes looked good. Once I give them a good look I’ll review them if they are worth buying.
Another awesome thing that happened this weekend: I bought new jeans. Size 14. Yeppers.
When I first got back to Memphis I bought some size 16 jeans at Target because that is my size, right? Well they were annoyingly big on me so I went to a thrift store and picked up some 14s instead. I can’t wear every size 14 out there but I bet I could wear at least some of the stack now. I’m wishing I had not left them in NZ!
Other fun things from my weekend: went to the Zoo, bought supplies for a tutorial at Hobby Lobby, slept late, and dressed up as a Zombie:
How was your weekend?
