4 Things I Will NOT Do To Lose Weight

April 29, 2009 by Mary

This post may contain affiliate links. Please read my disclosure for details.

Lately in my search for more information and resources about healthy living and weight loss I’ve run across a lot of crap. That’s right. CRAP. There are way too many people out there selling useless things and ideas to those of us that are overweight. In honor of all those jerks I decided to make a list of the things I will not be doing to lose weight.

1. I will not be starving myself to lose weight. Thanks for your idea to eat like 500 calories a day, but that is stupid. Of course doing that will make me lose weight. But I will literally be starving my body since your recommendation is way less than my basal metabolic rate. I am trying to improve my health by losing weight. I don’t want to start hurting my body in a new way.

2. I will not be taking any diet pills. Once a long time ago in high school when I had no idea what I was doing I took diet pills prescribed by a doctor. I hated it. My heart raced all the time and I was scared to do anything. Needless to say I will never do anything like that again. I know I can lose weight naturally and I don’t need pills. If I want the crazy side effects I might as well go buy real drugs.

3. I won’t be signing up for any expensive weight loss plans. I’m not even doing anything like Weight Watchers this time. I’m keeping it simple so it will last. I am not paying anyone else to tell me how to lose weight when I have or can get for free all the information I need. And I definitely will not be paying any of the crazy “weight loss experts” on twitter for their programs or advice. No thanks!

4. I will not be losing weight fast. Wow, the advertisements all encourage me to drop weight fast! In only 11 days! How amazing! Except its crazy, unsafe, and nothing I want to do. I will not be partaking in any lose weight fast scams. Even if they aren’t scams and really will let me lose weight that quickly I don’t want to. I am losing weight naturally and healthily – which means slowly. Some weeks will be better than others, but I’m expecting about 2 pounds a week.

So there you have it. Four things I absolutely will not be doing to lose weight because they are silly. These things might work for other people but I have decided to forge my own path. And I know there are some people that have and will do the same thing as me. Keep at it and don’t give in to the things and ideas others are selling you!

There is so much crazy stuff out there. And it never works because you can’t act crazy for the rest of your life. Plain and sensible is boring – but it always works.

A different take on w.loss. It’s a refreshing change to read, things that you’re NOT willing to do in the w.loss department, it’s always I am going to do this or I am going to do that.

Great attitude, missus. I salute you.

You tell ’em! :-) The sheer magnitude of crap out there is truly stunning. And the fact that people will pay millions a year for that crap is the really sad thing.

I found that losing weight is not that hard as anyone would think. It sure takes commitment and following a simple plan but the key element is persistance.

You need to monitor the calories, lose the junk food, sodas, sweets and do some physical exercises. I myself love dancing. And remember to use a fat burner to accelerate the fat metabolism.
