7 Week Old Baby Day In The Life | Maternity Leave DITL Vlog

June 15, 2018 by Mary

Penny is 7 weeks old now and this is the last week of my maternity leave. While I’m incredibly heartbroken about going back to work, I’m trying to cherish these last few days with her at home.

We recorded a day in the life vlog so we can remember what it was like once I go back to work. She has changed so much in the last month since the last ditl vlog.

This past week has been pretty amazing with Penny. Now that she is almost two months she is interacting with me and with others. She smiles, she babbles, she coos. She spends her days with me “talking”, then “playing”, and of course sleeping.

There are some moments where we both struggle. She cries and we don’t know what she wants until we run down the list of things that might be wrong. Sometimes she’s fussy for a long time because she has gas problems she just can’t deal with. Sometimes I wish I had more time to accomplish things – finish a blog post in one sitting, eat my breakfast on time, get out of the house freely without a ton of gear.

I wanted to capture a little bit of the good and the bad. The sweet smiles and the screams when I’m trying to get to sleep. Our life together isn’t perfect but it is pretty amazing.

I’m going to miss spending the days with Penny but it will make those morning wakeups and night time feedings a little bit more sweet. :)
