While I don’t think I’ll have the time to blog everything I eat, I did take pictures of everything yesterday! It did help to keep me more mindful of my intake since I could see what I had for previous meals.
It also helps to look critically at a plate before eating – does it look balanced? Is there protein, carbs, and healthy fat? Are there vegetables on that plate?
I noticed yesterday that I drink a lot. I’ve drank a lot of water for the last few years but yesterday I had a variety of drinks.
The morning starts with water and iced coffee with a Jimmy Dean delight english muffin:
Then mid-day I started drinking tea while at work:
How cool are the Memphis mugs from Starbucks? It’s my city in my favorite colors! Thanks, Starbucks.
And after work I made a smoothie:
I actually went by Walmart after work and bought myself a new personal blender.
I previously had one of these Hamilton Beach Personal Blenders, but lost it somewhere along the way with moving so often. This blender works well and is the perfect size. I love that I can take the cup with my if I’m in a rush too. I hope whoever ended up with it loves it as much as I do!
It was $15 well spent and I made myself a smoothie immediately when I got home.
The smoothie had spinach, kale, mixed berries (strawberries, blueberries, blackberries), protein, and water. Great way to get in a lot of good nutrition quickly!
It was so pretty and green!
Other than that it was a lot of water. Water all day at work in addition to my green tea then water with meals and water at night before going to bed. I end up with multiple cups of water all over my house because I’ll totally forget my cup is upstairs or downstairs and just get another. I have to have a glass of water near me at all times!
Funny enough this was a day where I didn’t have any Spark! I normally have 1-2 packets to give me energy and wake me up but I didn’t even need it. I was full of energy naturally, hurray!
What do you drink during the day? I’m thinking about trying some new things like coconut water and some vegetable juices. Shake things up a bit!
