A Mile At Fitbloggin

March 20, 2010 by Mary

This post may contain affiliate links. Please read my disclosure for details.

I’m currently at Fitbloggin and while there is so much to say and talk about, there is only one thing I really want to say:

I RAN A MILE!!!

I may have been super slow, just faster than the fast walkers, but I did it!

Cross that off my goal list baby!!

I wish I had pictures, but since it was a last minute development there was no preparation. I was actually dreading the morning 5k, so when the awesome Jen, Sue, and Lissa said they would be sloggin the 1 mile instead of walking I figured I could do it too!

And I did!!  Without stopping, besides the whole run in place for a second before the group of walkers.

It rocked.

I then watched all the 5k runners cross the finish line in under 30 minutes and had the opportunity to compare myself to them and think about… wait, no, I didn’t. I was proud of them. They did great. And what’s more? SO DID I.

I’m proud of myself.

Today is done for me because nothing else will top this, but I’m off to go try!!!!

So awesome! What a great accomplishment.

I’m still struggling with running but I’m doing it. Ran outside for the 1st time just the other day and boy was it tough. I’m still doing the 1 min. run/3 min. walk intervals so I look forward to the day I can run 1 mile too.

Congrats on your SUCCESS! You rock!

I have the same problem… I’ve been running inside so running outside was HARD. But I just run slower and it works out. :) I like the interval system – I’ve been doing run 2 walk 1, but I wanted to do a mile fully by itself. :)

Addicted? All these runners keep telling it’s addictive, but I don’t know. I am starting to enjoy it. I really liked doing that mile and not stopping. That was fun. I think the pacing and running with friends helped. So I might be addicted to that…. Haha. :)

[…] I woke up the second day feeling kinda iffy, but Lisa had texted me to make sure I was up for the 5k so I felt like I couldn’t back out. I didn’t feel my best but got dressed and went down to meet the group for the run. I was still trying to decide between walking the one mile, walking the 5k, or trying to walk/run the 5k. Then I talked with Sue who was running (slowly jogging) the one mile and was talked into doing it to. I figured, why not at least try? Sue, Jen, Lissa, and I all set out to do it together. You know already that I jogged my first full mile and I’m super proud of that fact. […]
