I’ve already started on my September goals. I’m now tracking my strength training workouts on this page of September workouts. I finally figured out all my workouts from last month that I wrote all over scraps of paper and notecards so I will post those on a page later. I’m looking to see some progression and improvement as I track my workouts over time.
Friday Five
Five Things That Made This Week Awesome
- Lots of good workouts.
- Finishing and sending off my NZ visa app!
- My wedding photog emailed me to finalize our wedding timeline and stuff (which I don’t have any of the stuff she needs but it is still awesome).
- We got our first wedding present. Aw. Yay!
- It’s the week before a long weekend – always good!
Five Things I’m Doing Over The Long Weekend
- Watching a soccer game with some crazy soccer fans.
- Going to the TN River with a friend.
- Going to Nashville for a quick minute.
- Working out at my gym on Monday.
- Borrowing a bike from my boss and going for a long ride.
Five Vegetables I Love Eating
- Broccoli
- Cauliflower
- Kale
- Spinach
- Peas
Almost all green things too! The little kid version of myself would be disgusted with me.
Five Things I Want To Buy
- Weight Lifting Gloves (The cheap ones I was using have torn apart.)
- Better clothes (I’ve worn what I have so much it’s starting to give out!)
- Headphones (To listen to music on my iphone at the gym.)
- Tennis shoes (Preferably colorful, fun ones.)
- A laptop (Mine died. So…. I’m screwed.)
Five Links You Should Check Out
- How Much Do Bloggers Make via Katy Widrick (While I do make money blogging I’m surprised so many people want to be professional bloggers. I definitely thought that would be fun at one point but wizened up to the fact that I much prefer blogging as a therapeutic-and-fun-hobby/part-time-job.)
- Blogging Legal Guide via Callie aka Athlete Wannabe (Will be a very useful blog for all of us bloggers who want or need to know a bit more about legal issues pertaining to bloggers.)
- Kelly Olexa’s Blog via Kelly Olexa (I find her blog really inspirational and full of great fitspiration.)
- The #1 Health Tip Everyone Agrees On via The Great Fitness Experiment (This is super true and a really great tip! It’s something I constantly am working on though.)
- My A Merry Life Facebook Page (Yes I ran out of links and got tired and didn’t want to look for more. But my facebook page is cool and I don’t promote it much, or ever.
What are you doing this weekend? Big plans? Have a great weekend!
I’m diggin’ the Friday Five…I might try it on my blog, but I’ll be sure to give you cred if I do. =)
I am working on my September goals too which are changing from previous months…woo!
Go for it Kenlie! I’d love to see your version of it. :)
Ugh, that stinks your laptop died! :-(
Today’s my birthday so it’ll be spent the way every Labor Day weekend is…stretching it out for all it’s worth. Of course its on the line of triple digits here so not conducive to going outside to celebrate. Boo! Looking forward to a little college ball too!
I looked at Katy’s post earlier and was surprised by the number of people who want to be professional bloggers as well! I won’t lie, I’d do it…seems like a really flexible and fun job. But at the same time, I’m realistic about the financial viability of it too. It was great to see all of the results from Katy’s survey!
Glad you linked the FB page. I didn’t realize you had one and was happy to “like” it. :)
And hope you’re having a great weekend!
Its really great that you are on FB, even I will like your page :)
Thank you for those links. I am always looking for more information about blogging! Great goals and achievements at the gym!
I’m right now reading the athletes way which is a great book that explain the feel good factor of working out. Sweat=bliss. So he shared that a good startegy is to keep each workout info in a log or notecards and record what you did plus how you felt. I did something similar last month and I was able to see the successes beyond the numbers. Like I started to feel physically stronger therefore I am tackling more complex issues. It’s kinda neat to see the progress that way.
Oh and this weekend I’m spending a lot of time walking around and with close friends catching up.
Oh I love love love love love your lists! I need to make to do lists to get more organized. I especially need make a list I need to list list.
i did want to be a full time blogger, not that i thought i would be, but then i realized that it would suddenly be a job, something i HAD to do, sucking all the fun out of it. i love blogging, so i definitely want to keep it optional and fun! five veggies: 1) broccoli 2) spinach 3) eggplant 4) cucumbers (oh wait is that a fruit? oh well if it is lol) 5) tomatoes (this is def a fruit but people count it as a veggie 6) squash (to make up for the earlier fruits i’m adding a 6th!)
You’re giving me an Idea how to make my weekends worthwhile. Working out is kind of fun for someone like me who likes moving around.
