Hmmm, a size 8 actress is an anomaly? Apparently so.
That’s what Shape magazine reported in June 2008.
“In L.A., Eli Stone star Natasha Henstridge is an anomaly. ‘I can barely find a pair of jeans the fits me in this town,” laughs the size 8 model-turned-actress.’”
Natasha in 2007.
Wow. I didn’t know being a size 8 was such a big deal… even in Hollywood.
According to Henstridge, “I know I’m in an image-oriented industry, but if I’m playing a normal person shouldn’t I be a normal size?”
I say YES! If there were more normal sizes and body shapes represented in Hollywood that would be FANTASTIC. Especially more examples of healthy women like Natasha Henstridge who aren’t fighting to be a size 0.
She might not be the smallest woman in Hollywood, but she still stays healthy by getting as much exercise as she can.
What she says:
- “My main workout is an hour-long boot camp class that’s a mix or cardio and strength training. It’s different every time, but whatever the combo is, it’s always intense. I’ve seen a real change in my body since I started.”
- “When I have a 6 a.m. call time, I blast tunes and jump on my treadmill before I head out. Even if it’s just for 10 minutes, it gets my blood pumping and clears my brain; I perform better as an actor when I’ve exercised.” [Everyone performs better at their jobs if they exercise!]
- “I think sports are important for development. So I do active things, like bike riding, with my 6- and 9-year-old boys. They enjoy it and so do I – I get to spend lots more time with them.”
