Biggest Loser Challenge Update #4

May 11, 2009 by Mary

This post may contain affiliate links. Please read my disclosure for details.

Just finished week 3 of the biggest loser challenge I am doing and the weigh in was not as great as I had hoped.  Turns out I only lost 1.2 pounds.  Eh.

Weight: 245.0
Previous Weight: 246.2
Weight Loss This Week: 1.2
Weight Loss Total: 6.8

I knew that wasn’t going to be the best weigh in because despite all my good efforts during the week I am not so great with weekends.  I will have to work on that.  I also plan on switching up my diet and eating less meat and leaning more toward being a vegetarian.  My friend Candace decided to do this last week and after reading all about longevity and blue zones and their diets, I definitely want to eat and act more like those people do.  Which means less meat and more veggies and grains.  Can do.  Or at least can try to do.  After being raised on a junk food diet it is hard for me to like some veggies.  Guess I will just eat them anyway.

Moving into week 4 of this challenge I want to lose over 3 pounds.  I would love to lose 5 and get out the stupid 240s, but three will work this week.  That is not a crazy number and it will also bring my weight loss for the month to 10 pounds.  I know I can do that and will be much more motivated for the next two months of this challenge.  So here is to an AWESOME week full of healthy eating, good workouts, and lots of FUN.  Hope you have a great week!

    After about 16 months of weight loss, I STILL mange to sometimes get derailed on the weekends. It’s so frustrating!

    Good luck this week with your new eating plan!

    @Erin
    Weekends are hard. The different schedule and LOTS of FUN activities throws me off almost everytime. Once I figure out how to control it all a little better things will be golden!

    Don’t be discouraged by a smaller number! Every little ounce counts!

    Even with the tough weekend, you still lost a pound. That’s fantastic!

    A loss is great progress! Way to go! I’m a former veg. and it is so hard to eat well, I found myself eating carbs as a crutch. and then overeating, which lead me to atkins and all the fats I ate…maybe it’s just my relationship to food that’s hindering me!

    You are averaging more than 2 lbs a week, which is fantastic. I eat very little meat and do much better that way. Keep making healthy choices and try planning more for weekends. Maybe that will help?

    Hiya, thanks for visiting me and commenting on my blog.

    i just want to echo everyone else and say that you are doing fab, biggest loser, when you have the pressure of being humiliated on national tv, would be fab, but you dont, so are you seriously going to work out so hard that you make yourself puke? no. thought not. 1-2lbs for week is really exactly what you want to aim at, you have a much bigger chance of keeping it off too.
    also in reply to your comment i think measuring would really help you, i started doing it on a different diet a few years ago and while the whole thing didnt work for me i liked the measuring; the theory of it being that sometimes you dont lose weight but you do lose inch tape! give it a go- do your measures mark them down and next time you feel dissapointed measure again.

    WEEKENDS SUCK ASS! I can have so much control during the week. But when we go out on the weekends, it’s as if I don’t know what the hell I am doing. My weight on Friday was 179.8 and on Monday it was 184.4. WTF!?!

    No problem. I liked your blog. Keep up the good work! And I definitely think the measuring in food/water would help. I’m going right now off a “looks right” basis. It works well for now but I know it won’t long term. Eventually I will have to break into the numbers and measurements.

    @Irene
    Girl, we gotta stop having so much fun on the weekend. It’s silly to erase all that hard work done during the week!

    Ditto the weekend struggles! I am usually on track throughout the week but then weekends AND vacations I tend to screw myself up :<

    Congrats on the loss for this week! I think it’s great steady progress!!
    and good luck to us this coming week :)
