So, every Tuesday I watch the Biggest Loser with my mom. While I have some issues with the show (exercising 8 hours a day? losing 30 pounds a week?) I generally appreciate the principles behind it and how it inspires the millions who watch the show.
On tonight’s episode one of the contestants said something that just stuck in my head. I can’t remember the name of the contestant but she said
It’s AMAZING to see what EATING RIGHT and EXERCISING can do to your body.
So simple. So true. Its amazing to see that hard work and healthy living principles really can change your life. You don’t need diet pills, you don’t need surgery, you don’t need anything except motivation and hard work (sometimes more in a few special medical cases). While The Biggest Loser is an extreme example of this principle at work, it does show that it if effective. People losing weight at home through these same principles show that it works. Eating the right portions of the right foods and exercising every day will change your life for the better. Thats my plan and I’m sticking to it!
and your MIND.

Hey! I’ve got that same plan! Right food….right portions….and exercise!
TBL does garner some wonderful quotes! I’m with you…way to fast…way to extreme. But it does show America (ok, the world) that it IS possible to do this!

Even though BL seems so unrealistic, it does have it’s positives to.
I love watching the condensed version, skipping the 45 minutes of weighin’s and cutting out lots of the last chance workout, but last night was worth watching ;)

It is so true. Maybe I should be watching that instead of wasting my time watching Real Housewives of Orange County!

Awesome! Thanks!
@TB
I would love to watch a condensed version of the show. I could do without the entire weighin section. Just give me the number and save me like half an hour. I think the show is way too long at 2 hours, but I still enjoy it.
@BigGirl
You should totally watch! I watch Real Housewives though because one of my brothers loves it almost as much as he loves ESPN. Weird, but its not a bad show.
