Hey y’all!
Blogging while catching up on Silicon Valley sounded like a great idea so here we are. Anyone else watch that show? I’m finding it super interesting since I’ve been a supporter of and have worked for tech startups. JuJu and I are both just chilling while watching it. She’s had a long and stressful day – we went to the vet today!
Honestly, it’s been a long and busy couple weeks around here. There is so much going on!
Grizzlies Games
Grizzlies are in the playoffs so I’ve been to a few games and watched them all on tv. West coast games mean I’ve stayed up a little too late on some nights but I have to watch all the games.
I love the Grizzlies and I love playoff basketball even more. It’s a super fun time of year and I’ve loved being a part of it the last three years. I’m excited to see how far our Grizzlies get this year!
(Shout out to all my SF/Cali readers! Good series right now!)
Busy Busy
I started a new job recently which has been a big adjustment. There has been a lot of caffeine consumption as I try to juggle commuting, working, freelancing, running a business, and just general life stuff like weddings and friend time.
(There was also a bit of indulgent caffeine consumption as I tried the new frappes during happy hour week at Starbucks! )
Being busy is great but it also means I’ve been lacking in my gym time. Softball once a week and long workouts on the weekend is great, but I miss having a solid workout every day. I’m considering canceling one of my gym memberships to switch to one closer to work. Proximity would help a lot! When you get busy it helps to make things as easy as possible so decision fatigue can’t get you.
Reading More Books
I’ve also started listening to audio books since I have a longer commute now. I’m hoping to listen during driving time and at the gym so I can knock out more books this year through both reading and listening. Here’s what I’m working through currently:
Purple Cow: Transform Your Business by Being RemarkableLearn MoreStrengthsFinder 2.0Learn MoreA Modern Girl’s Guide to Bible Study: A Refreshingly Unique Look at God’s WordLearn More
And there is a huge list of more books I want to read! I’ve got lists going on books related to marketing, business, health, and other topics. I’ve always loved reading and learning about a large variety of topics. If you have any must-reads let me know in the comments.
On top of everything I hope to start blogging and reading blogs more soon. Let’s cram my head full with all the information, ok? Ok!
Now that I’ve shared all the life happenings over in my part of the world, it’s time for sleep! When you’re busy it’s easy to sacrifice sleep but I’ve learned not to do that – it just leads to feeling rundown and even more tired. Get your sleep – you deserve it!
((((oh congrats on the new job!!!)))))
Thanks!
I freaking love Silicon Valley. I don’t so much care about the tech startup aspect as much as I enjoy the one-liners of Erlich and Gilfoyle and the general hilarity of the group.
Do you watch Veep? Because that show is also hilarious.
I know right? It’s hilarious.
I do watch Veep!! It’s such a good show!
Have you read Entre Leadership by Dave Ramsey? It’s a good business book. I’m going to check out that Modern Girl’s Guide to Bible Study–it looks interesting!
I have not read it! I’ve been thinking about it though because it’s definitely something I’m interested in and I’ve read his other books. I listen to his podcast and he mentions it a lot but I’ve never ordered it. Maybe it should be next on my list!
