I spend way too much time on Amazon. I know. But I download a lot of Kindle ebooks and it’s easier to do online which then leads to window shopping which is *almost* as fun as real shopping. While I was window shopping recently I landed in a strange little niche on Amazon – small, unique, single-use kitchen tools!
These awesome kitchen tools are incredibly clever and if I had a kitchen with lots of room I’d probably buy them all. I don’t think you necessarily need any of them since you can do a lot of the tasks with a knife or other tool already in your kitchen. Still, for a couple of bucks the convenience and novelty makes you want them. Or maybe it just makes me want them? I do want a bigger kitchen, this just might be the first step.

Bonus Cool Kitchen Tool!
I’m including this not because I’d like it or event think it’s that cool, but because of the reviews. They are amazing and it’s a long running joke on Amazon. :)
Hutzler 571 Banana Slicer
- “I gave this product only one star because I wish the instructions were a little more comprehensive.”
- “The slicer is cold and yellow in my hands and I’m slicing a banana that looks like a smile made of little banana teeth.”
- “For decades I have been trying to come up with an ideal way to slice a banana. “Use a knife!” they say. Well…my parole officer won’t allow me to be around knives. “Shoot it with a gun!” Background check…HELLO! I had to resort to carefully attempt to slice those bananas with my bare hands. 99.9% of the time, I would get so frustrated that I just ended up squishing the fruit in my hands and throwing it against the wall in anger. Then, after a fit of banana-induced rage, my parole officer introduced me to this kitchen marvel and my life was changed.”
- “What can I say about the 571B Banana Slicer that hasn’t already been said about the wheel, penicillin, or the iPhone…. this is one of the greatest inventions of all time.”
- “Before I invest 2 bucks in this bit of ingenuity, please tell me: What went wrong with models #1 through #570?”
And so on. It’s a good laugh if nothing else. :)
Enjoy these cool little kitchen tools!
