I’ve never had trouble drinking water plain. I know it’s a struggle for some people, but I love drinking water so much throughout the day I’ve been called a mermaid before. I love the taste and simplicity of fresh, pure water by itself. It’s so hydrating and easy to drink!
However, I was inspired by the water bar at the party yesterday to create a light and fruity water to sip on all day today. After all, this is my day to rest and detox as I recover from parties and bbq fest. Having a fun and healthy drink to sip on all day couldn’t hurt!
Not drinking enough water can lead to dehydration and feeling sluggish so drinking on this all day has been a refreshing treat that has kept me awake and refreshed. That’s exactly how I wanted to feel after the last few days.
After deciding I wanted to make some fruit infused water, I started with the inventory I had in the kitchen: cucumber, lime, lemon, and blueberries.
These items are all pretty typical ingredients I’ve seen in “detox waters” pinned on Pinterest and I already knew that cucumber water tastes amazing. If you’ve never had cucumber water before, go cut some slices of cucumber, pour yourself some water, mix and enjoy. It’s great.
Cucumbers not only taste great in water but they are packed with antioxidants and have anti-inflammatory properties that are really helpful for your body.
Water Ingredients
- 8 ounces water
- 5 blueberries
- 4 slices cucumber
- 1/4 lime
- 1/4 lemon
Directions
Slice cucumber and lemon and lime. Place all items in a water glass and add 8 ounces of cold water. I also add ice and allow it to melt and all mix together before drinking the water.
The longer you let it sit and mix together the stronger it will taste. More time = more flavor. Kinda like sangria. Except, with water. So healthy.
Afterward you can eat the fruit too! I always eat cucumber slices after I have cucumber infused water. I love raw cucumber slices so it’s a nice treat after the water is gone. And it’s more hydration for you!
Hopefully you’ve made water like this before or can go try it out soon. It’s totally refreshing and I’m definitely going to be making more fruit infused water this summer!
I really want to try out some variations with other fruits I love like strawberries or watermelon or pineapple. This might be the start of an addiction. At least it’s a healthy addiction?
If you drink water with fruit or veggie infusions, let me know your favorite combos in the comments. I’m willing to try out any that sound delicious! If you’ve got a link to a post share it too so we can all visit your blog and get your recipe.
I always say I am going to try to do some infused water…but just haven’t done it. After reading your blog I may have to ante up and actually do it!
Please do and let me know how you like it! It’s honestly not as hard as I thought it would be. Just throw some fruit in water!
AHHH THESE DAYS?

Thanks for sharing! Will definietly try it!
