This morning I had my annual “Well Woman” check up. It’s a physical and the lovely pap that women have to get. Fun times, right? It is important to get regular physicals though. Even if you hate the doctors office (I do) or feel embarrassed or just don’t want to go, there is NO EXCUSE not to go to the doctor regularly and be aware of your health situation. Catching illnesses and serious problems early saves lives so I hope you all get checked up regularly!
Funny enough, this fell at the same time as I needed to get my medical exam for the NZ Visa application. So this morning’s appointment acted as both. And my normal 30 minute appointment lasted 2 HOURS.
Plus, a pipe burst at the doctor’s office so they sent me off to another place across town for a chest x-ray. I’m in between appointments at the moment but I’m headed out for that appointment shortly. My whole morning has been eaten up by appointments and driving. I’d much rather be at work, but I’ll just have to settle for working from home in between appointments and this afternoon.
But on the bright side… everything so far says I’m healthy!
My blood pressure was 110/70 which is normal and good. I wasn’t as nervous this time like I was before my first chiropractor appointment. My weight was steady, my lungs sounded good, everything was good so far!
Now I’m off for the second part of my day, getting a chest x-ray, to prove my healthiness to the government of NZ! Wish me luck!
Yay for good health! Boo for busted pipes and unplanned driving!
I also did some tests this week, but not the PAP and not the skin cancer check. I’ll do those early in the new year. My doctor says I have become healthier the last 5 years, even though I have gained weight. All my numbers have improved. Go figure!
I read that on your blog actually. I was very excited to hear that you are much healthier now!
A man once was whining about how I didn’t understand how awful a “man’s” physical was with the whole turning your head and coughing thing.
My response? “Until your physical involves a CLAMP, zip it mister.”
Ha!
Glad your #s were awesome.
