I meant to blog about going to a class at my gym last night, but I got completely sucked into watching House of Cards.
That show is CRAZY. I started watching it before a party last Saturday and then came home and watched more and watched at least 2 episodes every day since then. I flew through Season 1 and am now working on Season 2. It’s so ruthless and cold blooded and amazing television. Kevin Spacey is brilliant.
Speaking of brilliant… yesterday totally was! I felt great all day, mostly because I sat outside and enjoyed a ton of warm weather and sunshine.
Then after work I joined some new friends in a kickboxing class!
I’ve been wanting to get back into group classes since my gym offers quite a few. I’ve been a bit intimidated because some of the classes are huge and look pretty tough.
Last Thursday I arrived at the right time to try Zumba and I really enjoyed it. At the party I went to Saturday a couple girls mentioned going to some fitness classes and I discovered they went to my gym! In fact, 1 had been in that Zumba class on the opposite side of the room (it’s a big room). They mentioned the classes they go to every week so I decided to join in. Friends and fitness together? My favorite.
It’s been a while since I took a kickboxing class but I really enjoyed it and got a good workout in.
Post class crazy eyes selfie. It’s a thing.
Right now my class schedule for fitness classes at my gym involves Zumba twice a week, kickboxing once, and a weights class once. It feels doable and fun so I’m pretty excited to try to make as many classes as I can.
This morning I woke up feeling a bit tired from the class but overall I’m feeling great. I admit, I am drinking a cup of coffee this morning to get myself going though!
Just one. Promise. I’m still trying to come off coffee and sugar, but right now I’m settling for a reduced intake. That is easier and more realistic.
Tonight I’ll be taking Zumba again, woohoo! I’m so ready to get in there and dance. I might not be the best dancer, but I enjoy it. I’m finding these classes are the perfect way to escape and release stress. Friends, music, movement – all the best things at once.
(Then I’ll watch more House of Cards. Of course. I can’t help it! SO GOOD!)
Ok, it’s really random but Kevin Spacey always reminds me of Brain from Pinky and the Brain. No idea why! Kickboxing is fun but I always find Zumba seriously intimidating. Glad you’re enjoying it!
Your glasses are hot.
LOL. You’re the best.
I just started watching “House of Cards” yesterday, and I am loving it! The only problem is that I have tons of grading I should be doing instead.
I love your post-kickboxing selfie – beautiful smile! I’ve been taking a couple of fitness classes myself this week (Zumba Step, Body Combat) and I’m loving the energy.
I don’t want to spoil the show for you, but don’t be surprised when Kevin Spacey gets killed by the meth-dealers who killed his brother-in-law. Wait, maybe that’s Breaking Bad…
They aren’t the same?
