Wearing a Fitbit Flex all day today has already made me more aware of my steps and activity levels. I’m loving all the functions I mentioned yesterday like the alarms and sleep tracking. I think in a couple weeks I’ll have a lot of information about my overall health that I didn’t have before.
Fitbit Daily Stats
Today has been a pretty average non-gym day – work, walks with JuJu, no workout. I’m still pretty happy to see I hit my 10,000 steps goals with still a bit of time left in my day. It was also really exciting to get my first vibration when I hit my daily goal!
It’s nice to see how many “active” minutes were part of my day. The goal is to get 30 per day so walking JuJu covers that easily. On days I workout that number will go up even more!
Friendly Office Fitbit Competition
It’s also been interesting to see the average amount of steps people take during a day now that I’ve added friends in my account.
I’m very interested in our office activity since we all have Fitbits. A bit of friendly competition in the office in order to promote healthier habits is always a good thing! Right now the most active person in the office is at 7k steps per day on average based on the last 7 days. That’s definitely something I can do!
The competitive side of me is already coming out because I want to be number one on our list.
Even More Fitbit Motivation
Beyond just our office competition, I’ve been inspired to work towards catching some more active people on my friends list like
- Kelly who is at 19k steps per day.
- Dani who is at 17k steps per day.
- Craig who is at 14k steps per day.
I’ve seen other people at anywhere from 20k to 40k steps per day average. I definitely don’t know if I’ll be hitting those numbers on average any time soon but it definitely gives me something to look at and work toward. It would be fun to hit occasionally while keeping 10k as my baseline.
It’s not really a competition with friends so seeing all these people so active throughout the day is really motivating.
If you’re already using a Fitbit, add me as a friend! The more of us, the better! Cheers for everyone!
