Furniture Exercise

March 20, 2011 by Mary

I spent today rearranging furniture by myself. It was the first day I felt completely good physically in the last week – over a week really.

My cold got really bad last week and I had a few days that were just awful. Beyond that I didn’t exercise for the time I was sick because it would have made it worse. It was already hard enough to breathe and I didn’t want to risk making the asthma kick in and land me in the hospital or something. I’m definitely more careful now about how I treat myself whenever I get sick.

But not moving much for a whole week has been horrible! I’ve missed exercise so much. So today I decided in addition to working out I would also be active more during the day. This included moving around couches and tables and other furniture by myself for a few hours. Cleaning and rearranging the space threw me into an unexpected asthma attack because of allergies to stuff in the house, but I’m still glad I did it. I feel better with the new layout and I got some movement and exercise in.

It’s strange what makes me feel good. Who knew rearranging furniture was the key to today’s happiness?

Well, furniture moving and flower making.

It’s a lovely day. :)

Merry Go Round News:

This post about blogging for money from Skinny Runner was great. I never understand when people get upset over bloggers making money from their blogs or receiving free products. It’s just silly because no one is getting rich off blogging. Well, maybe like 3 people, but most of us spend more than we make.

Body Confessions is a new online spot to anonymously talk about your body. It’s like a anonymous Twitter + Postsecret for body image talk. I love it.

Apple and peanut butter sandwiches are the best. I’ve had them for two breakfasts in a row. Win!

I did Spring Cleaning today too… and emptied all my dresser drawers to get rid of old clothes which in turn has given me the WORST allergies ever. I swear I sneezed at least (not exaggerating) 40 times today….which has lead to crazy sinus pain and that annoying tickle in my ear. GAH. I hate allergies! I feel your pain!

Haha! That’s exactly what was happening to me! I had a sneezing fit and thought it would never, ever end. I hat that. I hope you feel better asap!

I think the flowers are a GREAT idea. (I’m speaking of for the wedding, specifically, and not just in general.) I think it’s really cool that you can incorporate interests into them, just by virtue of using specific paper (ie maps, sheet music, etc). And you don’t have to throw them away – Tina grieved a little when she finally had to toss her bouquet. :)

Yeah I’m super excited about the flowers. I’ve got a couple books and music sheets to work with. I can’t wait to make those flowers. Right now I’m just experimenting with sizes so I know what sizes to make with the maps/music/books. :)

    I love the flowers!

You’re about the 4th person who’s done some clearing of personal space this weekend… I myself feel like starting to clear my garden. I think the changing of seasons, and maybe the super moon, got to us!

I used these same flowers in my wedding! I had originally planned on making the flower balls out of them, but wound up running them in rows between the escort cards. I’ll have to send you a picture of them. I completely <3 them :)

How ADORABLE are those flowers!? How cute would those be for wedding favors or at place settings?

Glad to hear you’re starting to feel better!

What nice flowers!! You’re so creative! I used to have a roommate who would periodically rearrange the furniture in our living room or his bedroom. Once we even did mine. It seemed so weird to be in a different place yet same lol. Usually once I move into a place I put the furniture in one spot * keep it there, but then again, I barely have furniture at all.
