Well, I am nowhere near a scale on weigh in day, so I’m moving my weigh in day to Tuesday. Sounds like a jolly good plan, doesn’t it? Gives me an extra minute to work off some of what I ate this weekend….
Oh, wait. Except I didn’t. I did pretty good this weekend. It started out rough when I ate pizza for dinner on Friday night, but I improved greatly. I had tilapia and broccoli on Sat night when we went to Logan’s. It was the BEST. Seriously, that fish was delicious. I ate the second half of it last night for dinner with some strawberries. I did have a brief run in with beer when I went to Olive Garden. I didn’t eat a meal but had a beer and a breadstick.
Have to be honest with you guys, the whole time I was sitting there with the breadsticks in front of me I was thinking, “Get away from me you breadsticks! You art mine sworn enemy! Thy art full of carbs and death!”
It was a serious dramatic moment, but only in my head. Everyone else seemed normal and happy to be eating there. Which they should have been since it was their idea to go there. I just sat quietly, drinking my beer slowly and eventually munching on one of the breadsticks that I had grabbed when I realized a) no one else was going to take it and b) I really did need something so I wouldn’t get tipsy off one (tall) beer. The carbs won me over with their “but you need us with beer” logic. (We won’t discuss why I caved to this beer. We just won’t.)
I have a few choice words for those breadsticks, but I won’t share them here. I know a lot of nice, caring, non cussing people read my blog. You don’t want to know about the bad names breadsticks deserve. Besides I only ate one. Just one. No harm, no foul. I can work off that 150 calories today, so take that you sly, sly breadstick!
Since it was a pretty good weekend, all things considered, I can’t wait to weigh in. It should be a number I am happy to see. I’ll let you know tomorrow how it goes.
Great dialogue with the breadsticks!! And for having a happy, healthy weekend. Hope you have a great WI, but it’s just great that you are consciously making your food decisions like that.

Great idea! I have to try cussing out my food. This could turn out to be a excellent technique to alienate my food. Today I’ll probably have to cuss out buttered rolls, Twizzlers and….umm….salt.
Way to go this weekend! ^_^ I wish i had mad such healthy decisions. Can’t wait to hear the good news tomorrow!
Oh those drated addictive bread sticks :)
I love your dialogue with the food… now, if the food starts talking back, then you might have an issue :)

Well done for having a good weekend! Can’t wait to hear what the scale says…
I also wrote about bread today…
@YumYucky
Salt and I totally aren’t talking any longer. But I don’t miss the interaction, haha.
@suzanne
Addicting is the word for sure. So good! So bad! So addicting!
@Mara
LOL. I’ve never heard food talk, so I think I’m good.
Very funny post–I can totally relate. My weakness is anything sweet. Whenever there are cookies and such around when with friends I just want someone else to eat them all or throw them away! Sometimes though my workouts are best when I did eat that one sweet because I just want to erase it, and I end up erasing it and then some.
Very funny post–I can totally relate, but its normally the cookies that pull me under. They’re so distracting when they’re just sitting there uneaten, but sometimes I get my best workouts when I eat a cookie because I just want to erase it from my stomach. Since when did cookies become evil?
@Katie
Cookies do that to me sometimes too. I definitely have a sweet tooth that weakens my will around yummy baked goods. Stay strong my friend! Hehe.
haha what i would have done to have heard you tell off those bread sticks! Awesome!

such a creative idea!!
my toddler fell into a cactus once (longboringstory) and since then when she sees cactuses (sp? cacti?) she tells them calmly BAD BAD CACTUS.
people do stare—but she dont care :)
(hows that for a minirap?)
Ha, I have a problem with bread sticks and bread as well. Whenever I go to a restaurant I find myself eating a whole loaf of bread before my appetizer even shows up.
Alas, the bread sticks have many enemies.
@Miz
Nice rap! I can just see your toddler doing that. I would laugh for hours at that. So cute.
@Tyler
A lot of us get tripped up by the dastardly breadsticks. We should band together against them!
