Healthy Grocery Haul Videos

If you’ve ever been on YouTube randomly watching videos then you’ve probably come across the phenomenon known as haul videos.

What Are Haul Videos?

They’ve become a huge thing on YouTube with millions of views. What are they? According to Wikipedia, haul videos:

A haul video is a video recording, posted to the Internet, which displays items recently purchased, including product details or even the price. The posting of haul videos (or hauls) has been a growing trend, during 2007–2010.

By late 2010, nearly a quarter of a million haul videos had been shared on the website YouTube alone. Some of the individual videos have received tens of millions of views. Many young adults (mostly women) have displayed their shopping hauls, while including their beauty and design commentary in the narration. The videos are often grouped by store name or by type of product (cosmetics, accessories, shoes, postage stamps, etc.).  Before haul videos became an online trend, millions of people spent time watching other people, in technical product videos, unbox their latest new gadgets and technology. The trend of “unboxing videos” had emerged during 2006. In those videos, the owners would show the entire process of opening, configuring, and activating their latest high-tech gadgets.

Basically people buy a bunch of stuff and then show it off item by item in a “haul” video. I admit that I’ve watched my share of makeup and fashion haul videos. There is something interesting about seeing what other people buy and even a bit of envy fueled curiosity too.

Along with the trend of haul videos, some people have started doing healthy haul videos. These videos showcase what an individual bought at the grocery store while living a healthy lifestyle. I’ve made these healthy grocery haul videos in the past and have watched a lot of them too.

Healthy Grocery Haul Videos

Here are a few examples of healthy grocery haul videos:

There are hundreds if not thousands more healthy grocery hauls on YouTube so just search for them!

Why Watch Healthy Grocery Haul Videos

There are a few reasons why you might want to watch these specialized haul videos about healthy food and grocery stores:

  • Learn what to buy for yourself. If you have never shopped for healthy food before and are just starting on a healthy living lifestyle then these videos can be a great resource in learning how to shop healthfully. They showcase a great healthy shopping trip in one video so you can see what people living a healthy lifestyle normally buy.
  • Entertain yourself. Healthy eating can sometimes feel boring but most YouTubers that do healthy grocery haul videos try to make it fun. Watching these videos will be educational but also feel like entertainment at the same time.
  • Connect with people living a healthy life. Just like there are tons of weight loss bloggers, there are just as many healthy living and weight loss YouTubers if not more. It’s a huge community that is really active and encouraging. Jump into the comments and be supportive and you’ll find yourself meeting others with similar goals.

If you haven’t caught on to the haul craze yet I recommend you check it out and investigate these videos. They are part educational, part entertainment and they might be just what you are looking for!

I love Senor Snugglepuss! Is that his everyday name or his “I’m in trouble” name? My little kitty (not so little now)’s “I’m in trouble” name is Napoleon, but his everyday name is LEO! :)

Miss you. Hope you are doing okay and feeling better — I know these last few days or so have been hard for you.

Well, his every day name is KITTY. Haha.

I am doing better. It gets rough and then it gets better and then the rough days happen less often. I’m trying to make the best of my life even in a situation that’s not ideal. :)

    Hey Mary!
Love the video. It is so interesting to see the similarities and differences of things bought in New Zealand versus the US. I had a hard time hearing you..even with the volume turned all the way up. This is the first time this has ever happened with one of your videos. PS. All Kiwis are in our thoughts today and will be for the next few weeks.

      Thanks Sharon.

Interesting about the volume. I have no idea why that happened. It sounded fine on my computer but hopefully it won’t happen again!

Glad to see a post…was waiting for a “no, the earthquake did not affect us” post. :o)

Haha! I suppose I should have posted one. I had to answer a lot of questions since many people don’t know anything about NZ besides the fact that it exists. No we weren’t affected, but the whole country has been in a way because it’s so bad in Christchurch.

Love this. I used to hate mushrooms and like them now. good luck with the mushroom eating, lol.

Thanks! I think I actually will like mushrooms I just have to get over the long standing idea that I hate them. I’ve done this with other vegetables in the past and now it’s mushrooms turn.
