No tip can tell you how to find happiness, but there are things all of us can do to move ourselves toward being happy and healthy. Some of the best tips for finding happiness are just common-sense, like slowing down.
That’s right. SLOW DOWN!
Most of the sites I read everyday, like LifeHacker, are actually focused on being hyper-productive. They help readers squeeze as much productivity out of each day as they possibly can. But sometimes this super productivity leads to unhappiness. There is always more to do and the lists can be endless. I love being productive but I am a fan of a much simpler way of life.
I appreciate productivity but I think life is much more enjoyable if you slow down. Sometimes by doing less you can even get more done. And outside of work you definitely should try slowing down to enjoy things. Drive slower, walk slower, eat slower (yes! enjoy your food!). I’ve found that by doing these thing you will enjoy everything you do a lot more. And that’s what it is all about.
You have no idea how much I needed to hear this right now. :)

You know, we back-of-the-pack runners like to say we enjoy our races more. We’re out there longer, enjoying the scenery. And sometimes even taking photos along the way :)

I’m glad. I think we all need to hear it sometime. Slow and simple isn’t fancy, but its GOOD.

See, that sounds fun! Going a little slower is enjoyable. :)
So true. and something I need to remind myself of on the days I have for ME (sans toddler) not to rush and try and cram all I need to do into 3 hours.
sometimes doing less is SO MUCH MORE.

I just discovered your blog and especially love this posting. I just wrote about 3 tips to overcoming the blues and stress, and “Being Present” (ie: slowing down) was one of them. I think you might enjoy the read!
