It seems that I never know what to blog about on Fridays. Last friday I wrote a random updates post and today is a similar thing…
Maybe I never have things to talk about on Friday because my Fridays are boring. It’s one of my rest days for triathlon training so I don’t do much fitness wise…. it’s a bit of a boring day here. I appreciate my rest days so much more now that I’m actually training for something. I’m sticking with the program and doing exactly what it prescribes…even rest. And I love, love, love days to rest.
Except it’s not! People are celebrating both Diwali and Guy Fawkes here in New Zealand so there are lots of lights hung up and fireworks going off everywhere. It’s bright and colorful experience that I am loving.
Remember when I bungy jumped earlier this year? Yeah, I was just rewatching the video.
That was awesome. Scary. Worth it. I probably won’t ever bungy jump again, but I’m so glad I did that. It was a rush!
I’m getting excited about this lady coming to New Zealand for Thanksgiving. I’m honestly so sad that I won’t be with my family because I absolutely love Thanksgiving and Christmas with them, but at least I will have things to do and new people to distract me while I’m over here. I think it will be a lot of fun and I’m really looking forward to it. :)
Speaking of things I’m looking forward to…
- Getting a helmet so I can ride my bike on the road for training purposes…and just so I can go wander around with my bicycle
- Finally getting internet so I can make calls to my mom and best friends! It might seem silly since I’m posting this but our internet is currently “borrowed” since they haven’t set ours up yet (transferring takes forever!) and the connection is to slow for skype or google calls to work. I can’t wait til I get internet so I can make calls – I miss talking to everyone!
- Releasing a free e-book about having a great experience and getting everything you can out of blogging conferences. It seems like more conferences are popping up every day so I wanted to create a good guide for attending them since I love going to blogging conferences and have picked up great tips for making the most of them. I’m working on the guide now so keep an eye out for it soon. :)
That’s about it.
Have a great weekend everyone! Do something that will make you happy! :)
FREE EBOOK WHATWHAT???
**gets ready to print**
:)
have a great weekend Mary
Fridays are indeed….not exciting up in herre.
like monday thru thursday :)
I love my routine tho so I DO NOT MIND.
Haha. You might not need it since you are a conference pro! But you know, help with promotion/getting the word out would be appreciated. :)
Hey Mary, happy friday back to you! Have you ever tried foam rolling and some mobility drills on your rest days? Might make recovery a ton faster……
No I haven’t, because recovery already is pretty fast. I feel great. ;) Plus I don’t have access to a foam roller and I absolutely can’t buy anything else.
Gotta say “yeah” to wearing a bike helmet:)
WOO HOO! And we’re getting our package soon..bring on the stove top baby! BTW I need to call you next week to talk about our plans and where I should go. I haven’t booked anything, isn’t that bad? Or maybe it’s just pure un-planned bliss.
It’s not bad. The best trips are like that. Just let me know when you want to chat. :)

Funny I was thinking earlier about it being Guy Falkes, we used to love celebrating as kids :)
Gotta wear a helmet and stay safe :)
I never realized how big of a celebration it was. Crazy! I love all the fireworks tho. :)
Yes, wear the helmet. I never used to and realized how important it is. I wear it rollerblading, too.
Oh, I’m big on safety… I won’t ride my bike yet because I don’t have a helmet.
I so remember your adventures & so encourage young people to LIVE because before you know it…. you are my age! ;-)
E book.. what!!!! How exciting!
Yay for helmets! They look goofy but keep you safe! And hearing you talk about gearing up for spring and summer makes me jealous because it’s now getting cold and cold makes me sad. :( I need a winter/summer house situation where it’s always spring/summer….
Fridays are always a little hectic at work (just finishing up all the to dos before the weekend), but it’s always nice to be able to stay up a bit later and relax a bit longer…. today is a rest day for me too.
Aww. Well if it makes you feel any better it makes me sad reading blogs talking about fall. It’s my favorite season and I missed it!! :(
{mutters about fireworks like a scrooge}
Eeeesh. I got the cold sweats just watching you do that. I have to be dragged onto things like rollercoasters. The eventual adreneline rush is awesome, but I get very antsy and nervy waiting for the rides to start. So no bungy for me, I think. The luge rides at Rotorua are another story, though, grin.
Have a brilliant weekend. I’m off to a zumba master class this arvo :)
Oh, I LOOOOOOVE the luge in Rotorua. So much fun! We also did that crazy scary ride there, which was super scary and possibly not worth the adrenaline rush it gave. But we did i. ;)
Have fun at zumba!!
I will be stalking your blog until that book comes out. I am going to my first conference in May (FITBLOGGIN!!!!!) and want to enjoy every second :-D
Oh wow Mary! What an amazing experience! you are BRAVE! I hope one day I can be that brave! LOL for now, I’ll live vicariously through you :)
I feel for you with your internet frustrations. My daughter moved to spain for the year to study and her first month, the internet she had was sooooo slow she couldn’t skype or even stay on line and it was very difficult where she was homesick. Things have improved since.
Look forward to your ebook! I’m hoping to get to 2 blogging conferences next year!
Happy weekend!
oh i remember diwali..The only times I’ve celebrated it were in college, although I was always a bit of a stick in the mud because I never wanted to stain my clothes with those colors lol. Really pretty results around campus though! I know what guy falkes is, but ive never seen it celebrated. That would be super interesting to see. Fridays are always exciting to me, because it’s the start of the weekend and more importantly, the end of the work week. Plus I had a fun weekend this past weekend, playing tourist in my own city.
They celebrate it in the commonwealth countries… mostly with fireworks. Apparently. :)
