Happy Thanksgiving!

Hello friends and readers! Hopefully if you’re American you’re spending a wonderful Thanksgiving morning with your family and will enjoy this day surrounded by loved ones.

present and thankful

This holiday seems to be stressing me out this year for a few reasons. My anxiety shot through the roof yesterday unexpectedly and since it was late at night I didn’t have much to do other than tough it out. I’m hoping it will settle down today after a good workout following this post. I’m going to go kick my ass and run so that the endorphins make everything feel better. Anxiety sucks but at least I know ways of managing it now that I’m older (less coffee and sugar, taking supplements, lots of exercise). I’d prefer a clear and calm mind and luckily that’s exactly what exercise can give me. Thanks exercise!

stressed but really blessed

Despite the worries and stresses, my overall life is amazing. I’m so thankful for everything I have. I love where I live, my family, my friends, my dog, my work, my life. Life is so good these days and it feels great to be happy. Every day when I write in my gratitude journal I’m reminded of all the wonderful things I have in my life to be thankful for each day. I’m so blessed!

give thanks

I’m thankful for this blog and for you readers. Thank you for sticking with me or just finding me and listening to my ramblings and struggles and triumphs! This blog has been a source of great help for me and I hope it’s helped some of you as well!

be kind be thankful

Daily Step Count

Currently I’ve challenged myself to get more steps by wearing my Polar Loop Activity Tracker and hitting 13,000 steps daily.

polar loop activity tracker review

This means that even though it’s a holiday, I still am concerned about getting in enough steps for the day. Luckily, I’ve already hit my goal every day this week so far so I’m feeling good about my ability to do so… even if I’m bogged down with a bit of extra turkey in my belly!

Here’s how I did yesterday, on Wednesday:

13192 steps

Steps for the day: 13,192

“Quite an active day. You will improve your health levels if you continue like this.”

Activity for the day:

  • walking around multiple stores
  • walking juju and playing with her
  • pacing in the house
  • putting up more Christmas decorations

My gym has weird hours this week so again all my activity is coming from walking and basic life activities. It requires more thought and being upright and moving for more hours but it still gets the job done.

For some reason I’m really into Christmas early this year so I’ve spent the last couple days decorating my house already. I usually do it after Thanksgiving but several people in my neighborhood had their houses decked out in lights and I wanted to join in on the fun! It’s just so pretty!

And now I’m off to workout before heading to my mom’s house to cook and eat a delicious Thanksgiving meal. It’s going to be a wonderful day and I hope you have a day that is even better!

No it’s designed to be worn around your non-dominant wrist. I know the Moov Fitness Tracker can be worn around the ankle if you want.
