Healthy You Check In 8.4.08

August 6, 2008 by Mary

Yes, I’m checking in.

I am always one of the last ones to check in, and I do miss weeks here and again, but I’m still around!  I still care!  I still want to be the healthiest me that I can be!

Since I have moved my weigh in to the weekend, the healthy you check in on Tuesdays can serve as a different kind of update.  More of a emotional/NSV/whatever else kind of update.  Exciting.

failure

Just kidding! I feel like this update is a good one. I am back on track after a trip out of town completely derailed my progress (it almost makes me not want to go back there!).

On Sunday I was really good and prepared all my food for this week so I wouldn’t eat poorly.  So far I have eaten out twice, which was definitely not planned, but both times I ate really healthy – (1) salad (2) chicken sandwich.  I finally began eating the food I prepared today and it worked out really well to have food prepared to heat up so I wouldn’t reach for the bad stuff.

I have also had two days (Monday + Tuesday) of excellent workouts and decent water consumption.  I am terrible about drinking enough water, but my mom was sweet and bought a package of water bottles. I hate them, but I am much better at drinking all the water I need if its in a bottle.

My workouts the last two days have been great.  Today’s was  a departure from the standard 1.5 hour gym workout I normally do.  Instead I had a ton of free time so I walked around downtown Memphis for 2 hours.  I can now say I have been almost everywhere in Memphis.

Also I walked a mile while I was working today!  I love getting paid to workout.  Its great!  I work hard though, don’t think I am a slacker.  All the work was done before I did my little walk session. :)

So…. good week so far for me…. which is great!  I really needed to get out of that blah session I entered while I was out of town.  I hope everyone else is having a good week and I will get around to reading all the blogs sometime soon!

Sounds like a great start to your week!

That’s smart to prep your food in advance for the week ahead.

Glad it was a good week–it’s good to take a break from the gym, and walking and exploring are good for both body and mind.

Love the Simpson cartoon; kinda sums up my life philosophy!
