Last night was fun. I went out to celebrate my birthday with Candace and some of her coworkers. I consumed a nice bit of alcohol and greasy food that was just oh so delicious.
A few pictures…
Candace and I!
At the Peabody Rooftop Party:
When we were eating some random guy having his bachelor party came to ask our names so he could find names that matched his ex girlfriends. Or soemthing like that. We took a picture with him since it was funny.
Then we had a little fun.
And took pictures in mirrors.
Yeah. That was that. Good times, glad I went, it’s good to have fun and not always be sooo focused on one thing (like losing weight).
I mean, the last two days of eating have been terrible and that may lead to a gain this week (if I even weigh in). I don’t rightly care since I’ve been working out and being really active and it’s my BIRTHDAY week. Today I’m going to eat well and even food blog (!!) but I still have a joint birthday party Saturday that will be pizza and carrot cake. (Of course, I’m the one making the carrot cake… maybe even a lite version.)
This stuff is part of being balanced, which is what I’m aiming for. I don’t want my whole life to be focused on being healthy to the point that I neglect myself, friends, or family. It’s all got to work together. Sometimes I’ll eat crap, and then most days I’ll eat well and go to the gym. You don’t become obese because you over eat a couple times a year at holidays and birthdays. You gain weight because you overeat and don’t exercise EVER. The day to day choices over time are much more important than letting loose and having fun once in a while.
But really… I like to make my birthday celebrations stretch into a week, don’t you? ;)
FRIDAY FIVE: MY FAV READS THIS WEEK
Just wanted to share a few links and reads that I enjoyed. I’ve decided that no one shares links on their blogs anymore… just on Twitter. It’s so wrong. Links are good people! Link to things from your blogs!
Beyond the Blog: Getting Published is the video from the session at Fitbloggin (which I missed)… check it out if you are one of those bloggers who dreams of publishing a book one day.
9 Health Treats From Food Bloggers has some of my favorite healthy living food bloggers gave their suggestions for this article.
MizFit’s Earth Day post rocked with the good tips and suggestions.
Step By Step: Spaghetti Squash from Lyn helped me get over my fear of the spaghetti squash. Not sure when I’ll get around to trying it but I’m much less afraid now.
Britney Spears unairbrushed … and now if they just showed those kinds of photos in magazine maybe I’d read something besides Oxygen and cooking magazines. ;)
