Fun Exercise: Hiking in Vermont!!

HIKING IN VERMONT

I want to show you a video I threw together yesterday of the hike we went on Tuesday.  I’ve gone on a lot of hikes since I’ve been here and this is just one of them, but it turned into a pretty cool one where I was the only one to make it to the top, despite rain, falling, and almost running to get there in time.  So watch the video and enjoy.  If you ever want to go hiking with me I’d love to go, just remember I talk a lot and make funny noises while hiking.

OOH, MY ACHING BODY

My arms are sooo sore. They’ve been sore all week and as much stretching as I do I haven’t been able to fix them. It all started on Tuesday when I went to kickboxing class and decided to punch as hard as I could. It was an awesome workout but left my arms pretty tired and sore. The next day was upper body resistance training so that made my arms even more sore! Thankfully I had a day of rest on Thursday but it didn’t help because Friday was “advanced” upper body resistance training, which is more reps and different exercises. Needless to say, my muscles are fatigued. They are happy it is the weekend and so am I. Rest time! Maybe by the time I leave Green Mountain I will have some upper body strength. That is one thing I’ve never been able to get much of on my own. I want to be strong!!

HEALTHY LIVING BLOGGING

I’ve decided a few things about blogging lately. First, I’m going to blog less. After blogging almost every day since I’ve been at Green Mountain I’ve gotten tired of it. I realized that sometimes I put blogging before other things and allowed the need to write about my day to stress me out. I’m not exactly supposed to be stressing out over things while I’m here. So, I’m cutting back to every other day or whenever I want. I hopefully will have more time to think about what I want to write and share instead of just throwing stuff up because I feel like I have to. Less of me is more of me. Hehe, that could go for my weight loss journey as well.

Also, I want to keep posting my food pics and my exercise but since I’m not going to post every day and I still want to track that every day I need to find a different solution. I thought about doing it on a blogger blog or even a tumblr but I’m not sure. Ideally I would like to somehow do it on my own site, but I’m a bit technically challenged on things like this, so I am open to suggestions on what I could do.

QUESTIONS

Do you like hiking? Where is the best place you have gone hiking? I’ve always been a fan of hiking but the best trails I’ve been on have been here in Vermont. It’s great!

    “Less of me is more of me.” I like that! This might be my new mantra.

    Vermont is gorg. I live in Colorado so there are alot of places to hike here. I like to hike at Garden of the Gods here. You can look it up on the internet. The great thing about Colorado is the massive amounts of sunshine, no bugs and clean air. That’s probably why it was judged the healthiest state in the usa. Being fat here is an anomoly. Blog when you want, it should give you pleasure…not pain ;)
    By the way, you look thinner to me. just sayin/

    The hiking looked like heaps of fun! And with cool people! I’d love to go hiking with you :)

    Sorry to hear your arms have been sore. But yay for rest! Rest is great! Absolutely essential to gaining strength!

    I hear you on the blogging. Post when you want, we’ll still be reading :)

    You are adorable! And so self aware. Smart to cut back on the blogging and focus on you. Blogging should be a joy not a stress inducer, right?

    Ooooh, I would love to go hiking in Hawaii! Hehe.

    @Janet
    Yeah I thought it was a pretty good line. :)

    Chris
    Colorado is gorgeous. I’ve only been there to snowboard but I bet it is awesome in the summer for hiking. I would love to come at that time of year.

    And thanks! I’m a bit thinner every day, so thanks for noticing. :)

    @Whateverthehellhisnameis
    We shall go hiking, I promise!

    @Joanna
    Hehe, thanks! Yes, it should definitely be a joy and normally it is, but I realized that because I have less time to blog than I did before I was making it a stressful thing, which is no good!

    i LOVE hiking! maybe it is because i live in utah, the hiking mecca.. or maybe i would like hiking even if i lived elsewhere. either way it is the best! especially in thigh-deep snow, hiking to get a sweet run down the mountain :)

    I think it’s such an important lesson to learn, and sometimes I struggle as well. Blogging should be something you find enjoyment out of. So blog when you want, about whatever you want. That’s the most important thing. People love you for you.

    I’m not a hiker, I’m more a runner.

    I don’t blog every day too, simply because I want to read other blogs too and I’m working 36 hours a week, try to exercise 5 times a week so I write one every 2 or 3 days.

    So I’m looking forward to more of you in a less often blog.

    Its so hard to write every single day, so makes sense that you might need to do other real life things first instead of write. I do like hiking, so long as I don’t camp. I grew up mostly in NH and we lived in 2 acres of woods and I used to love to go out and walk around or just relax and look at things, so sometimes I miss that. I am a city girl though and would get bored and dirty if I had to sleep over in the woods lol. The best places ive been hiking are in MA (like the blue hills when I was little – wild blueberries!) or NH (in the white mountains they have gorges and all sorts of really pretty stuff).

    Hiking would be such a fun activity to get with. I guess you’ve enjoy your trip in the mountains. It would also be a good way to lose some weight as you go up and down with effort. I hope you continue doing better things. :)

    Vermont is the best place to hike. My favorite trails are part of the Long Trail on the peak of Stowe. We’ve hiked out to the peak to watch the sunset and hike back with headlights.

    Just got back from a week in VT but did more work on our camp addition than hiking. We did hike through a corn maze in Danville which is always a blast.

    Glad you are enjoying the Green Mountain State. I love it there.
