I slept in this morning instead of going to the gym.
I originally set my alarm to hit the gym around 6 am but when I finally woke up I decided it was in my best interest to go back to bed. I had a great reason for it – I hardly got any sleep last night. I went to sleep at a decent hour but was woken up multiple times through the night and had trouble falling asleep because the room I’m sleeping in has lots of light that comes in through windows (I’m housesitting this week). I was woken up by a train going by the house, by the cats coming in the room, and by a crazy thunderstorm with lots of loud thunder. I woke up so many times last night that by the time I needed to get up to go to the gym I was extremely tired. The extra two hours of sleep in the morning was totally worth it.
Sleep is important!
Other than inconsistent sleep I’m really enjoying house sitting. It’s closer to my work and gym and there is even a porch where I can sit outside and blog.
It’s lovely.
Another perk of house sitting is being able to bike again. They have a sweet cruiser I’m allowed to use. It’s a smooth, fun ride.
If it stops raining I will even attempt to bike to work tomorrow. I wanted to this morning but after the storms last night and a still menacing sky I figured it was for the best to drive. I did manage to use the bike yesterday for a quick ride around the neighborhood. It was glorious!
I’ve missed having a bike so much and I love the freedom and fun of biking. I’m going to bike as much as I can this week while I have a bike and hopefully next weekend hit up the Greenline here in Memphis finally.
Because I slept in I’m planning to workout after work today. It will probably be more crowded and that might change my workout plan. But I will still go and still get something done and hopefully also go on a bike ride tonight after dinner.
It’s looking like it will be an awesome week full of working, blogging, wedding prep, and BIKING! YAY!!!

Enjoy the biking and housesitting. Sometimes it can be fun just to have a change of scenery!

Have fun on your bike rides!

I will take photos. I didn’t at first because I was just too excited about riding.
I will be safe if I ride to work. I’m going to scope out the situation but I think it’s mostly sidewalk and a road that cars don’t ride on (just trolleys and pedestrians) so it’s pretty safe. :)
I love you too!

ooh that porch looks nice!! maybe that’s why im constantly tired…i NEVER sleep thru the nite and wake up a billion million times, as a matter of course. your night sounds normal (although not good) to me. lol. youre right, sleep IS important! enjoy your house for the wk!
Mary says
Yikes! I would hate for that to be normal. I tend to be really picky about getting enough good sleep. I make sure the room is DARK (covered windows) and silent and cooler. That equals perfect sleep for me so I always try to make sure that’s the conditions I sleep in. But I can deal with anything for a week!

Anyway, sleep is just as important for maintaining a healthy weight!

True story!
