Over the last couple weeks this concept of a weight loss jump start has come up multiple times. I’ve heard the words “i just need something to jump start weight loss” quite a few times in the last month and a half.
My mom mentioned it when she was discussing how her doctor told her to lose 30 pounds before her knee surgery happens. My boyfriend mentioned it when he was talking about how he wanted to get ready for the upcoming soccer season. My friend Candace mentioned it when she was discussing her wedding coming up in May. Okay, actually I was totally on board with her because I’m in that wedding too and want to look good as well!
Why I want a Jump Start to Weight Loss
Over and over I found myself and the people around me wanting to make a change but feeling like we all needed a jump start of some kind. It’s a common concern and obviously one I’ve been having myself.
When you lose a bunch of weight and then get stuck on plateau and then sort of take your focus off weight loss, you need to shake things up to get moving again. Having a jump start can move you from the level you’re at to the next level that you want to reach. I know that having a jump start originally helped me really focus and get started on my initial weight loss efforts so doing something similar should be really helpful. I’m hoping it does it again.
Right now I wanted a weight loss jumpstart that was planned out for me. I technically know how to lose weight. But I wanted something with a checklist and rules and plans for what to do exactly to make it happen. A jump start and a road map. Do this, don’t do this. Plan out your week or your daily meals and then just follow the program. I wanted something that would get me started again after being stalled for so long.
My Weight Loss Jumpstart Choice
Thinking about the long term consequences of obesity really worried me and made me want to get a jumpstart on finishing my weight loss journey. That’s when I decided to do the Advocare 24 Day Challenge.
I chose this particular challenge because I’ve seen people online and in real life do it successfully. I also chose it because I already successfully completed the first part of the challenge by doing the Advocare 10 Day Cleanse. I knew it worked. In fact I feel like I’m “late” to the party because everyone has already tried the 24 Day Challenge. But that also comforts me because I know it’s tried and tested!
So I signed up for the Advocare 24 Day Challenge and I’ve got two people doing the challenge with me for moral support and because they also wanted a weight loss jumpstart. Candace decided to do something similar with Herbalife and is doing great so far! I considered that as well or doing Whole 30, but ultimately landed on wanting to try Advocare first because of my familiarity with it (and love of Spark).
I’m both really excited and really nervous about doing this. I have a strange feeling that it’s going to work really well and be life changing. Life changing activities are something I’ve avoided over the last couple of years. I’ve been big on keeping the status quo and keeping things calm and easy and stress-free in my life after lots of upheaval in a short period. It’s been great, but now I want more.
The products should arrive next week and I’m ready to immediately get started! I’m ready to jumpstart my weight loss again and get to the best place I’ve ever been in my life. I can’t wait!!
Have you ever tried a certain plan or program for a weight loss jump start?
Good luck on your 24 day challenge! Losing weight is freaking hard as can be, especially with so much information out there on the right way or wrong way to lose fat. Foods we can’t eat, exercises we gotta do, it’s enough to drive somebody crazy.
It ain’t just about eating less and moving more or counting calories and weighing all your food. Sure, that stuff works for a little bit but it only gets you so far and then once you stop that diet you just gain it all back (and usually extra weight!). My wife and I lost right around 115 pounds (between the 2 of us) in just under 3 months (http://stevesweightloss.com) and it’s all about a life change. Starving yourself, doing cardio till you drop and popping diet pills don’t work and it never will.
Cool. I’m going to sign up for Advocare 24 Day Challenge . :)
Do it!
