Benefiber Fiber Supplement Review

May 21, 2014 by Mary

After finishing the Advocare 10 Day Herbal Cleanse, I decided I wanted to carry on a few habits from the experience.

One of those habits was taking a fiber supplement. I never really thought to do this before and always considered fiber something only old people needed to supplement. Yet taking it while on the cleanse helped keep me fuller and more regular and overall seemed to be a positive thing.

For those reasons, I decided to buy some Benefiber.

Benefiber Fiber Supplement details:

  • 100% natural fiber supplement
  • Dissolves completely in beverages
  • Sugar free, no thickening powder
  • 25.6 oz. container

The American Dietetic Association recommends a healthy diet include 25 – 35 grams of fiber a day, including both soluble and insoluble fiber. However, Americans only consume about half that amount. You should do your best to get a healthy amount of fiber from the foods you eat each day. Some foods do have more fiber than others 1 serving of Benfiber equals 3 grams of dietary fiber. Benefiber is 100% Natural Fiber that you can mix with almost anything. It’s taste free, grit free and will never thicken. So it wont alter the taste or texture of your foods or beverages.

Why I’m Loving Benefiber Fiber Supplement

I wasn’t sure what fiber supplement to purchase (I’m still open to trying different ones!) so I picked this up on a shopping whim. After having the super gritty fiber drink from Advocare I knew I wanted a break with something that would dissolve easily. I want to take a fiber supplement but I don’t want to choke it down.

This stuff is awesome! It completely dissolves into your liquid and you don’t even know it’s there consistency wise. Since I use water I can obviously see it but because I can’t taste it I don’t mind at all.

I’m still trying to eat a lot of veggies and get in fiber naturally but having the fiber supplement makes me feel a lot better. I got used to how I felt on the cleanse and want to keep that up. That means fiber supplement, healthy eating, and less processed junk. So far, so good. Thanks Benefiber!

If you’d like to try it for yourself, this is what I buy: Benefiber Fiber Supplement – 722g 190 servings

If you take a different fiber supplement that you love and think I should try, please leave me a comment!

I wish I had used a fiber supplement years ago. It took a painful experience to find out that fiber is a dietary necessity.

I was looking at the amazon reviews and I don’t understand why the fiber supplement does not help a few people. Either they are not drinking enough water or they are not getting enough fiber from their food to get to the minimum requirement for them.

If you read about the Paleo diet, you’ll find out that before the food industry took over our diets, people were getting 100 grams of fiber per day.

I can totally believe that about fiber in the old days. There is so much processed crap we all consume now (myself included) that we definitely don’t get enough fiber. Drinking enough water and consuming enough fiber to make your body run smoothly makes a world of difference. I would guess for the people it didn’t work for they had the problems you suggested. It really is necessary to also eat a diet of real foods and drink a lot of water. That can be hard for people sometimes but it does make everything in your body feel soo much better!
