Initial Advocare 10 Day Cleanse Thoughts

May 6, 2014 by Mary

I’m on my second day of the Advocare 10 Day Cleanse I’m doing with my boss.

advocare herbal cleanse

I wanted to share some of my first thoughts on the program. Get prepared for a random stream of consciousness post via bullet points!

  • I’ve never done a “cleanse” before and didn’t fully know what to expect. I went it somewhat blindly even though I read other posts about the cleanse months ago.
  • The cleanse comes with 3 parts: AdvoCare Herbal Cleanse, AdvoCare Fiber Drink, and AdvoCare OmegaPlex.
  • The fiber drink you have to drink in the morning? DISGUSTING. This is so far and probably will be the worst part. I have barely managed to choke that thing down and it’s made me gag both times. YUCK.
  • The “Spark” drink you get for an energy boost? Those are tasty! It’s a decent replacement for coffee if you drink it, tho I’m glad I got off coffee a few weeks ago because that would have made this worse.
  • Requires: pep talks. I needed a pep talk to get through the fiber drink. I needed a pep talk to eat smaller meals more often throughout the day. I am giving myself a lot of internal pep talks which is a pretty good practice for most things in life. You are your own best encouragement.
  • Exercise is not intense but I’m wearing my Polar loop and working on hitting my 10,000 + step goal.
  • You have to drink a ton of water. I think I normally drink a lot of water but I made sure to hit a full gallon yesterday on my first day.
  • The frequency of bathroom visits for all purposes has increased, as to be expected.
  • After the first day I’m down 2 pounds. I also feel lighter and less bloated. Woot, apparently it works.
  • 10 days isn’t too long so I’m looking forward to continuing this and finishing it out strong. I think it’s going to be a kickass jumpstart for an awesome summer of healthy and active living. :)

That’s a few of my intitial thoughts and reactions. If you’ve done the cleanse before feel free to chime in with your own! Or ask questions.

I have done two 24 Challenges with Advocare products. For the fiber drink, use the orange flavor and mix it with about 6-8 oz of orange juice. Do you have a blender bottle? If so mix it up in that and drink it fast – like two big gulps. If you don’t have one, stir constantly in between the gulps. You can’t let it sit long or it grits up on you. That’s my best advice! I love the Spark. Lemonade and fruit punch are the best! I lost more weight on the first one I did but I wasn’t eating as healthy be fore doing that one. I did the second one between Thanksgiving and Christmas to keep myself honest through the holidays and can proudly say I weighed the same New Years Day as I did Thanksgiving. First time in years I could say that! Good luck with your detox!

I used to have a blender bottle but need to get a new one. That would help. Right now I just drink it as fast as I can and dilute it and stir between gulps. The first day I didn’t know and it got all applesauce consistency and I literally had to use a spoon. So gross.

The spark is great. I’m legit tempted to get it and use it after the cleanse independently. The ingredient list is pretty fantastic and it really does seem to perk me up and get me more focused.

That’s awesome you had such great results! I’m actually really enjoying the cleanse and might do the 24 day challenge.

I’ve heard about this and been meaning to take a closer look. I’m so curious to hear your thoughts as you progress with this! Thanks for sharing! :)

Cleansing/detox can be a good thing, even when you’re forced to do so. I just had a colonoscopy, so the “cleanse” and associated fasting was unpleasant, but it does give your system a much needed rest.

Are you doing the full 24 Days?
(I ask because the 10 Days doesn’t come with the OmegaPlex, but with the Probiotic Restore. You’ll experience probably slightly different results if you’re not doing exactly what comes in the box)

oh, and the GOLDEN RULE is to never ever order the citrus. The peach is AMAZING and not gritty!

I didn’t have a choice. That’s what it came with? LOL.

I’m not, just the 10 day.

The 10 days I got had probiotic restore. Also had the omegaplex in a separate thing.

hmmm. The person you bought it from must have just put a different thing together for you (including the flavor choice). Hope it goes well! :)
