Got this email in my inbox today from Fitbit about a new Fitbit Flex and had to share because I was totally excited by the color. I love that activity trackers are starting to expand and play with color and different options!
Violet Fitbit Flex
You can now get into the spirit of Valentine’s Day or get a head-start on spring fashion with the newest Flex color! Violet! Violet Flex is available today at Fitbit.com and Target.com, and will be in Target stores starting on 2/16.
I want this. Valentine’s Day present for myself? Seriously considering it! I do love my Polar Loop, but the violet fitbit flex is sooo pretty! It’s kinda the color of 2014 too!
Actually, I’d probably rock any of the color options available. I love that you can get a Fitbit Flex Wireless Activity + Sleep Wristband and also the Fitbit Flex Wristband Accessory Pack so you can change out the colors. I’d totally wear a wristband more with lots of coordinating color options. I’m such a girl. The marketing totally gets me.
Fitbit Flex Benefits
If you are unfamiliar with the Flex, here’s a bit about it:
The Fitbit Flex is super easy to use works like this:
- tracks your activity and your sleep
- syncs your stats wirelessly
- shows you real-time progress
- makes fitness fun
Okay, so it’s a marketing ploy but it’s true. It makes fitness and getting more activity into your day fun because it feels more like a game or challenge rather than something you dread.
One of the greatest things about the Fitbit Flex is that it syncs your progress wirelessly and lets your view your stas immediately. It connects with PCs, Macs, and most smart phones. You get to see all your stats displayed on a handy dashboard and can check in throughout the day to see how you are doing physically.
The Fitbit Flex system lets you earn badges and gamify your activity. It feels more fun when you are working toward earning your next badge. You also get achievement alerts and weekly email stats that let you see your progress and motivate your along the way.
The Fitbit Flex is pretty flexible because you can change it with the different bands to match what you are wearing for the day. It’s fashionable in a way and the new violet color and future colors will give you even more options.
The Fitbit Flex lets your set goals and work toward them. You set your goal for the day’s activity and then the Flex tracks your progress and uses LED lights to show you how you are doing. Each light represents 20% of the day’s activity so you keep going toward your goal until they all light up. You can set goals based on steps, calories, or distance – your choice!
One benefit of the Fitbit Flex or any activity tracker is that you can see all your data in one place and notice trends that might be occurring. You can also log food and workouts and see all your data in the same place which helps you make more progress toward your goals.
The Fitbit Flex is comfortable and easy to wear around your wrist all day and night. Since it’s with you all the time it will remind you to keep moving when you start sitting for too long or aren’t active enough during the day.
Get Your Own Fitbit Flex

I know that the Flex is thin and less pricey than the Force. But which one is the better tracker?
Hey Valerie, I’ll be honest – I don’t know! I can look into it for you though and let anyone else answer if they have tried both.
I’ve only used the flex, but from what I know, the software is the same. the major difference — other than the obvious display capabilities of the force — is the force’s ability to track stairs climbed.
I have a Fitbit Force, but I do love the changeable bands on the Flex. I wish the Force had that.
