Jennie-O Lean Turkey Burgers
The Jennie-O Lean Turkey Burgers were one of the first products I bought when trying to replace the unhealthy food in my diet with more health conscious fare. I knew that eating a turkey burger instead of a traditional burger would save me calories and fat that I didn’t need in my diet.
A wonderful alternative to the fatty beef normally used for hamburgers, these turkey burgers taste good and have less fat than a regular hamburger.
The particular kind of turkey burger I bought was the lean turkey burger, savory seasoned. Each box of frozen turkey burgers contains 12 quarter pound burgers.
How Do Jennie-O Lean Turkey Burgers Taste?
The savory seasoned Jennie-O Lean Turkey Burgers are quite tasty in my humble opinion. In addition to the turkey that makes up the burger it contains spices, diced tomatoes, bell peppers, and cheese. These flavors are not strong or vary distinctive, but combine to create a pleasant, mild flavor overall.
The fact that these turkey burgers have a mild taste makes them perfect for adding toppings of your choice. You can make this burger taste like what you want by adding additional flavors on top.
The flavor is not for everyone though, and some people cannot get past the fact that it does not taste exactly like a normal hamburger. These burgers are meant to be an alternative to hamburgers, not an exact duplicate which is obvious from their taste.

You can grill, broil or fry these juicy quarter-pounders just like hamburgers.
To fry the burgers use a large skillet over medium heat with a small amount of vegetable oil to cook the frozen burgers. Cook the burgers for 3 to 4 minutes on each side or until fully cooked.
To broil the burgers place them 4 minutes from the heat and cook four minutes per side or until fully cooked.
To grill the burgers place them 4 inches from hot coals about 4 minutes per side or until fully cooked.
My favorite way to cook has been the turkey burgers is the George Foreman grill.
Jennie-O Lean Turkey Burgers Ideas
There are different ways to prepare the turkey burgers that will offer variety to your meals.
To create a Maui Burger grill the turkey burger patties with sliced of pineapple. Place the burger and pineapple on a bun and top it with sweet and sour or teriyaki sauce.
To create a Plaza Burger use a rye bun and top the turkey burger with a tablespoon of sour cream and chopped raw onions.
You can create endless turkey burger combinations with these because of the mild taste that can be swayed any direction with toppings.
Jennie-O Lean Turkey Burgers Problems
My only complaint about the Jennie-O Lean Turkey Burgers involves its packaging.
The burgers are frozen together and wrapped in vacuum sealed 2-packs. Once you peel the plastic back you have to separate the two turkey burgers that were frozen together. This is not always the simplest task and caused me grief when trying to separate the burgers. Maybe I just need to work on that skill?
Otherwise these turkey burgers are a great addition to your meal plan. Look for them in the cold foods section of your local grocery store!
