July 4th: Freedom From Fat

July 4, 2009 by Mary

This post may contain affiliate links. Please read my disclosure for details.

Happy 4th of July to all the Americans!!  Hope you are enjoying the holiday and celebrating it with healthy foods and wonderful friends and family.

There are so many things being celebrated this weekend.  The best: FREEDOM.  A few of you have taken the time to celebrate your freedom from weight issues, from food, etc.  I have loved reading these posts and want to say that next year I hope to be celebrating my own freedom from fat.  More specifically I want to be celebrating freedom from obesity.  I want a normal, or even just overweight, BMI so badly.  I no longer want the word obesity attached to me and hopefully by next year I will be celebrating my freedom from that word.  Freedom from fat!!

Also, have you commented on the workout pledge post yet?  Have you linked to it?  Please do so I will have to workout hard next week!  So far its a pretty easy workout.  No problem at all.  Make this a challenge, please!

Have a happy weekend!

Great post and so very true. I never realized the extent to which I had ‘imprisoned’ myself by my size and the habits that generated it until I wasn’t that size anymore. As I say in my sidebar, I truly am enjoying living “fit and free”. And I’ll be here cheering YOU on to join me! :)

So how many hours of exercise are you up to at this point? I bet lot :-) I know you’ll do real well at it and do you know what type of exercising you’ll be doing? Looking forward to seeing the outcome. Had a nice holiday week-end and my first healthy one as well. Avoided all temptation and desire to overdo it. What a good feeling that is :-) I’m just so happy at this point. keep up the great work as well.
