For a lot of my life, I’ve been lazy.
I finally wised up to my laziness after many years of lazy days and doing the bare minimum to get by. Unfortunately being lazy might just get you by but it doesn’t get you to the place you really want to be. You have to stop being lazy to get there.
You have to stop being lazy.
But how? When you’ve been lazy for most of your life like I was, it’s hard to figure out how to stop. Laziness breeds more laziness and you just want to spend all your time being lazy. It’s hard to make a change and stop being lazy.
How To Stop Being Lazy
Below are a few of the tips I’ve picked up and some of the things that have worked for me personally. While I still enjoy a lazy day now and again I’m much more productive and energetic and much less lazy than I used to be. Following these tips might help you be less lazy as well!
Discover why you are lazy. This is seriously important and something you should do in the beginning of changing. Ask yourself why you don’t want to do something. Is it because you are tired or scared to fail or would rather do something else? Knowing why you are being lazy helps you figure out how to change it.
Use a schedule. Write things down not on a to-do list but on your calendar. Schedule them into your life. Need to workout? Write it down on the calendar and give it a specific time.
Give yourself a deadline. If you’re working on something, work will expand to fill the time you give it. Give your work a deadline and work backwards from that time to figure out how to accomplish it. Don’t procrastinate until you can’t complete things.
Plan out your week. Use a larger calendar to plan out your week and think ahead about your days. How can you make the best use of your time? Failing to plan gives you opportunities to be lazy and do nothing so plan out all of your week ahead of time.
Let go of the negativity. Sometimes the thing that keeps you being lazy is how shameful and bad you feel about being lazy. Let go of all of that and realize being productive with your time will make you feel happier and improve your life. Don’t let negative feelings keep you in a rut.
Set some goals! Find out what truly motivates you and give yourself some goals to hit with rewards for achieving them. Giving yourself goals and rewards might seem simplistic but it can be a great motivator to stop being lazy.

Sometimes we need a little blog break! Kudos on the loss! You’re getting there! Have a great week.
It’s good to take a break if you need it. And good work on the losses…
yeah, it takes time, and that can be really nerve shredding, can’t it?
I was reading this post and your last. It sounds to me like you have a lot on your plate. And so much of it uncertain.
It would make me more than just anxious, it would drive me “up the proverbial wall”. How is everything going? Decided what place to move to yet? Any prospect/plans for a new job?
And, I for one would love to see your bridesmaid photographs!
Hug,
Willow
