Logging Fitbit Steps & Miles

November 7, 2015 by Mary

This post may contain affiliate links. Please read my disclosure for details.

One of my goals to achieve by 30 is:

  • Get the next 2 lifetime miles Fitbit badges. (Lots of steps!)

I chose this goal because I wanted something a little out of reach that was also cumulative. It means I’ll have to consistently work toward it to hit my goal!

The next two badges to achieve:

  • 350 mi (563 km): Hawaii
  • 500 mi (804 km): Serengeti

As a stretch goal I might also push to hit the one after that:

  • 736 mi (1,184 km): Italy

I’m also participating in daily goal challenges with anyone that invites me (friend me and ask!) and a “Workweek Hustle” challenge with my coworkers during the week. My Fitbit finally tracked all my steps this week and my daily results looked like this:

fitbit steps monday

Monday steps:  Monday was my best day of the week since I knew I wanted to start off strong. I hit the gym and walked several times throughout the day.

fitbit steps tuesday

Tuesday steps: On Tuesday I just barely hit my 10,000 steps per day goal but I did it! I feel like this is pretty representative of a typical day.

fitbit steps wednesday

Wednesday steps: Wednesday was my worst day of the week. It was an incredibly stressful day at work and a long one too. By the time I left and got through my super slow commute home I had to go to Financial Peace University class. There wasn’t enough time for a workout and my steps reflected it.

fitbit steps thursday

Thursday steps: Steps were great on Thursday as I participated in lots of Fitbit challenges for the day. I also managed to hit the gym for elliptical, biking, and weights.

fitbit steps friday

Friday steps: Activity on Friday was great and included almost all walking! I walked Juju in the morning and after work, I walked to lunch to meet friends, I walked across the Downtown core from my parking garage to the stadium for a basketball game, and I walked around the stadium too. There was lots of walking consistently throughout the day.

And I ended up winning the Workweek Hustle this week! Woohoo!

So far, so good this week. I’m off to a good start racking up miles toward my goals.

Fitbit Review Notes

I’m still loving my Fitbit Flex that was provided through my job, but I have had some trouble with it. It’s had trouble connecting and tracking as well. Some days I’ve worn it all day long and then at the end it said I walked zero steps which was obviously wrong. I think the tracking problems have to do with it not always being charged up fully so I’ve been trying to charge it more often. I did that this week and had no problems with it working for once!

You can read my previous Fitbit One review and I’ll be posting a full review of my Flex soon!

    Look at you go!

I just called FitBit a few days ago. My flex was charged and syncing by said I had walled 0 steps multiple days in a row. Their customer service was great! They are sending me a new one due to be delivered on Monday. Can’t wait to get tracking again!
