I’m feeling very motivated on this particular Monday morning. Perhaps it’s because I got back on Pinterest and read a bunch of weight loss success stories yesterday. Or maybe it’s because I saw another good number on the scale this morning.
It’s probably a combination of all those things and more:
- I’m getting really good at saying no to food that isn’t worth it. On Sunday I went to visit my mom to vent about things bothering me. I was really upset and stressed. She felt bad so she offered me ice cream. My response? “No, that won’t solve anything.” Gold star, Mary.
- Lots of movement. I’ve yet to bring back hardcore exercise (I miss the endorphins) but I’ve been moving a lot more lately. This mornings workout – dancing! Lots of walking, even more dancing. Both of these make me pretty happy.
- Leftovers from last night are already making their way into my lunchbox. Having a healthy meal already done for the workday is really nice. It’s one of the reasons I love using a slow cooker – multiple meals throughout the week!
It’s going to be a great week for me. How about you?
Send me some of that motivation please! :)
I wish I could bottle it for all of us since it doesn’t show up all the time!
Way to go for avoiding the temptation of emotional eating. That takes a lot of skill, something I am still trying to master. My problem is with work snacks. Everyone still bringing in the bad stuff because they don’t want to eat it. It’s horrible when you have everyone telling you “there’s cookies in the break room!” So here’s to hoping that I don’t have a stressful work week and stay away from the break room! :)
I think this week will be good! Its already off to a great start. I too did a slow cooker meal on sunday and I am ready to with my portions ready to go for the rest of the week.
Pinterest is AWESOME! I could get lost on there for hours.
Have a GREAT week Mary!!! :-)
Thanks! It’s taken a lot of work to get to this point. It doesn’t happen overnight for sure and I still struggle with it at times. I’m just waaaaay better than I once was. :)
I love Pinterest but I go in and out with how much I use it. If I start getting sucked in too much I take a break.
Thanks Sarah!
Go Mary! What a great way to start the week! Great response to the ice cream. :)
Aww, bless mama’s heart but good on ya for turning down the ice cream! Keep up that motivation.
Love your blog! Keep it up
Hi! I am from the Spark group. Can’t wait to read more of your blog! Good job turning down that ice cream!
Saying no to bad food is half the battle. Made some tweaks to my diet this week so I’m motivated to get to the end of the week and see what the scale reads!
Way to rock the self-control, Mary. Great job!
Good job! what kind of dance are you doing? Anything formal or just moving to the music? and oh do I LOVE my slow cooker! Got a new one for Christmas…was so excited!
Just dancing around the house. :) I want to do Zumba again but haven’t found a class.
I read this and danced.
YAY!
What a positive attitude for the new week! I always pack my lunches for work too. I do a salad of some type each week and try to change up what is in the salad from week to week. I make all five of them on Sunday night and that saves time too throughout the week.
LOVE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I am making 55 the first year of the rest of my life! :)
You are awesome! Keep dancing, it’s one of the funnest forms of exercise for sure. I plan on making this a great week, too in spite of breast cyst aspirations and cardiologist app’t. :-P
Gold star indeed! Way to go Mary! I’m also getting into a dancing vibe these days. It’s great fun!
“No, that won’t solve anything.”
Awesome, awesome! So impressive and so true. These are words every emotional eater needs to embrace someday (especially me) :)
Looking forward to being a new follower of your blog. Maybe someday you can tell me more about how you got into freelance writing!
I love it! I hadn’t heard that one yet.
As you get use to rejecting unhealthy food it gets easier. You could dangle a chocolate cake in front of my face and I wouldn’t be tempted.
