[note: This post was written August 1, but for some reason never posted… since then I have taken a few more classes!]
The other day I did something I have never done before… an aerobics class. Despite working at the YMCA for over a year (like three years ago) I never took an aerobics class. I did do water aerobics for a bit with my mom but I never ventured into the aerobics studio.
Now that I am once again employed with the YMCA (at a different location) I am taking advantage of the aerobics classes I once shunned. My first class was “Bench and Box.” The class lasted an hour and was a combination of step aerobics, boxing, and kickboxing. Oh yeah and some ab work thrown in at the end.
(This is not my class… but a navy aerobics class… this is pretty much what I did during my class though. Hurray!)
I worked out for 30 minutes before I even went to the class. I was hot when I started and could barely breathe by the end. I did pretty well in the class though, I barely missed any steps and I kept up with the pace. I was really excited to keep up when I saw other people fall behind a bit. It was my first time but as always I am super competitive even when there is no competition involved.
I enjoyed the class and can’t wait to take another one so I can get better and do better as I get in better shape!
We do a class similiar called Total Conditioning…great job! Keep it going!
I’m investigating classes for the first time myself. Great motivation. And thanks for the pic too- even it is a Navy pic- I just worry sometimes about being the only guy in the room!
@ aishchai: Don’t worry about being the only guy in the room! Who cares? Usually when I go in the morning at like ten there are no guy, because thats the time when mommies and seniors go, but at night the classes always have a guy or too. Aerobics are great for everyone!
@ Willow: Thank you so much! I am glad you liked my blog and me. :)
Mary, Too bad that isn’t your class in the pic. I thought “Wouldn’t that be great to be in an aerobics class with ALL men!!! LOL LOL LOL
Congratulations on mustering up the courage to go to the class. Those classes whip butt!!!
