I’m not quite sure what the direction of this blog will be moving on but there is one thing that will be the same – I’m still in love with fitness!
Last week I actually joined a new gym and I LOOOOOOVE IT. It’s the biggest gym I’ve ever belonged to and possibly the busiest as well. There is a ton of stuff there:
- cardio equipment
- lots of free weights
- special ladies only workout area
- huge space for fitness classes
- separate yoga studio
- more stuff I haven’t even discovered yet!
It’s pretty spectacular.
I always avoided this kind of gym because it requires a year (or two) contract when joining. That terrified me in the past because I could never guarantee where I’d be living six months in the future. Now that I’ve set myself on living in Memphis I felt confident in signing up for a gym with a 1 year contract. What a settled adult I’ve become!
So far I’ve been to this gym 4 times this week. Prior to this I’ve only been run/walking outside but now that the weather has changed I’ve wanted to get back to something I’ve always loved – strength training.
It’s been great so far. I obviously lost a lot of strength taking MONTHS off from weights but I know I can gain it back in time. Just 4 workouts in and I’m feeling stronger and more confident. I love that strength training can do that. It’s a magical thing to feel stronger!
