Today started out with the worst weather. Almost as soon as I left Laramie it started snowing and I drove through snow for about four hours (with a few stops). It was incredibly stressful, especially in the mountains when the snow was really heavy and I could hardly see. I don’t recommend starting out your day with stress like that. I totally need a massage right now.
But eventually I got passed the snow and things started to look up. I stopped at the end of Wyoming and took a walk in the sunshine by a river and small lake.
Pretty, right? Randomly stopping along the highway when you see a sign that says “river walk” is such a good idea. I need some fresh air and a little exercise.
Then I got to Utah and I was amazed by everything I saw. For some reason I never thought Utah was very exciting. And because the southern part is flat I somehow thought it was all flat. It’s not. It’s really cool. I LOVE the mountains and so wish I could go snowboarding!
(insert photo of awesome mountains I took with my other camera which is not uploaded… oops)
Then I found out that Shannon lives out in the middle of nowhere Utah, on a really beautiful farm. Seriously, it’s beautiful. At first I was wondering if we would ever stop driving to get to her house, but in the end it’s completely worth it. This is the view on the walk around her property.
GORGEOUS.
And her family is awesome.
Exhibit A: one of the kids, who is famous via his love for YumYucky. He is hilarious and the whole family is really cool.
Exhibit B: they have a ton of animals. My favorite are the pot bellied pigs. I LOVE them.
Can I please live on a farm and have lots of animals too?
I really am enjoying it here and I’m glad I’m spending another day here! I’m going to workout and meet some people and see what kind of fun I can find. If I’m not too tired tomorrow I’ll even tell you about some of it.
But for now I’m so tired I can hardly keep my eyes open.
Can I just say that you are on the coolest trip evah!
oh, and utah down south south…if you drive through Zion national park…too beautiful for words.
enjoy your trip.

Whoa, awesome pics. I am SO jealous of you right now.
Keep posting about your trip! Little glimpses into your adventure makes me feel like I a, with you (and not stuck inside while it’s freezing cold and pouring rain here in Wisconsin.)
Have a great time!

How cool! Give Shannon a hug from me and tell her I miss her! And I am so jealous that you got to meet @FabFattieDodge.

Farming is fun to visit but you wouldn’t want to live there. It is HARD work although you don’t have to exercise as much because you are doing manual labor all day (and night) long.
I want to go snowboarding too!
Haha, yeah. I don’t think I’d ever want a working farm, but I’d love to live on lots of land and have lots of animals. So not necessarily a working farm. ;)
And yes to snowboarding! hurray!
Be careful driving!! Its really cool that youre driving around the country and stopping in at real people’s houses and you get to see how other people live. Its kinda what I do with blogs..read blogs to see how other people live..but youre doing it in real life. When I was little and lived in VT for a couple yrs I got to see some farms, one of my friends even lived on one, but I don’t remember that well. You’d think growing up in NH there would be some, but no..i lived in southern NH and no farms there. Itd be so weird to live in the middle of nowhere..but its pretty.
