I’m eventually planning to do a full nursery tour video of our mountain themed nursery, but for now I just want to say… I’ve made progress!
I heard of “nesting” during pregnancy and how it gets even more intense the closer you get to the end. You know, right when you start running out of energy!
Luckily we made a lot of progress last weekend with both nursery and general baby preparations!
I spent a few hours putting up cute clothes I’d washed in our dresser and hanging them in the closet. I want to get some of the boxes from Ikea that better organize the drawers but deciding in general where things will go was good to do. I also got to look through all the cute clothes again! I’m hoping she fits into newborn stuff for at least a day since I’ve got a couple adorable outfits but who knows at this point.
The top of our dresser from Ikea has been a holding spot for books, shelves, and random items that haven’t had a home yet. We’ve been incredibly blessed by multiple baby showers so I’ve been slowly processing all the awesome things we have received. It’s been hard to dedicate huge amounts of time so I do a little bit each day.
Luckily this weekend we finally got to clear off all the books from the dresser!
We put up three cloud shelves on the opposite wall of our mountain mural to create a little library. We’ve already received so many books as gifts and I couldn’t be more excited. I loved reading as a child and hope to share that love with our little girl.
I also set up a little diaper cart! I’ll have a video on this DIY soon but I loved putting it together. It rolls so easily so while it is in the nursery right now it may end up in our bedroom or the main living area so we have the essentials on hand when we need them.
Jason also put together a ton of items! He put together the baby swing we are borrowing from friends and the awesome little bouncer that changes to a chair. We’ve got all sorts of options for little girl to decide on what she likes.
He also put together the car seat and the caddy it goes into as well. Probably this weekend we will install the car seat bases in both of our cars so those are ready to go. Since I’m only a few weeks away from my due date it will be nice to have the cars cleaned and ready for the car seat to go.
It feels like we accomplished a lot this past weekend and I’m so excited about it! We only have a few things left to buy and setup but overall we are feeling pretty ready with “stuff”. I can’t wait to share the full nursery tour. :)
