Since I quit blogging for a while this year I missed out on sharing some of the more awesome things I did during 2013. I knocked off several things from my life list, including a trip to New York City!
I’ve wanted to go to NYC for the longest time. Since so many movies, books, and culture is centered in the city it was always one of those places I knew I had to visit one day.
When a good friend decided to do his residency in NYC, my best friend and I decided it was the perfect reason to finally visit NYC. We’d get to visit our good friend AND explore the greatest city on earth! If you couldn’t guess, I loooooved this trip.
Today I’m sharing a few of my favorite photos and memories, because it was a wonderful trip!
The first place we went was the 9/11 memorial. It was a crazy experience to think about that day and see the changes.
The statue of liberty was closed, but we went by on the ferry.
I love ferries so we took a ride on the Staten Island Ferry for fun.
Since I’m a huge Seinfield fan I had to go see as many places from the show as possible. I visited Tom’s Restaurant and had lots of Papaya King (sooo good).
This was “my” subway station so I got to know it very well.
There are so many people EVERYWHERE in NYC. It’s almost overwhelming, especially in places like Times Square.
I loved walking around the city, there were so many normal areas beautiful sites.
I loved wandering through different neighborhoods. They all have their own unique flavor. Brooklyn was fun, I could totally see myself living there.
Guggenheim Museum is a beautiful thing.
Wen went to as many museums as we could fit into our schedule. I loved the art museums. I’m a sucker for modern art.
Art museum selfies are necessary, right?
Grand Central was another fun stop. I’ve seen it featured in so many videos that it felt like I’d been there already.
I loved seeing parts of the city with my friends. We spent a lot of time seeing the main sights and also hitting up the cooler parks and neighborhoods worth seeing.
Even though I loved going with my besties I really dug spending some time exploring on my own. I took a night trip alone one night that we didn’t have plans and it was such a great choice. I love that I’m not scared to explore a city on my own and I saw a lot of great sights that night including Bryant Park and Times Square at night.
One of my absolute favorite experiences? Waking up early to walk/run in Central Park. It was such a great decision and I really loved experiencing Central Park that way.
And to remember my trip and treat myself I stopped by the main Tiffany’s store to get myself a little treat – a beautiful necklace that I simply adore.
That’s a quick recap of scattered thoughts from my NYC trip several month ago. I loved the trip and I’m so glad I got to finally go this year!
Mary I am so happy you got to do that!! So much to see there!!!!!!
There is! I didn’t even see everything. Must plan and eventual trip back. :)
