Friday was an interesting sort of day. I woke up, did a bit of work, then lower body conditioning and then Zumba. My southern buddy Shannon had changed her travel plans and since I was the only staff available I ended up driving her to Hartford, Connecticut. I enjoyed the drive since down I talked with Shannon and back I listened to music. The drive is so beautiful that it really relaxed me even though I ended up being sore afterward from sitting for hours.
Friday’s Meals:
Not pictured: a small bag of cheese its and some oreos for snack. And two scoops of ice cream + half a banana for dessert at dinner time. :) Basically all the good stuff is stuff I ate without taking a photo first. Oopsie.
Friday’s Moves:
30 minutes ultimate core workout class
45 minute Zumba class!!
SATURDAY!!!!
Today more friends here left to go home. The new ladies here are great but it’s a bit sad to see all the people I bonded with when I first came start to leave. After next week they will all be gone except one! I know there are new people to meet and I’m getting to know all the staff better, but it’s just a special connection I had with that group. They were all awesome.
After lunch we went to Peru, VT, for a craft fair. It was a beautiful day here again so it was nice to get outside and walk around somewhere with lots of people. I didn’t buy anything but I did have half a chocolate cookie and a child’s size cone of Moosetracks ice cream. Yumms.
We then took Margie to the airport, which was sad, and then drove around for a while. Not much happened, but it was nice to see more of Vermont and look at the pretty trees and stores and things. Everything pretty much looked like this:
We met up with other peeps for dinner at The Perfect Wife in Manchester, VT, where I had some new foods! I got the Vermont Farm Sampler, which had venison sausage, lamb loin, and QUAIL all from local farms. It was quite nice.
Saturday’s Meals:
Saturday’s Moves:
1 hour yoga class (woohoo balancing)
30 minutes upper body weights on my own because I missed every class for upper body this week! Oh, my poor weak upper body needs the work!
Firsts:
Well, definitely my first time eating both quail and venison. You would think with how much was around me at home I would have tried venison before, but I always avoided it. Not this time! I like the quail very much but I didn’t enjoy the venison sausage. But I tried it. And hey, I might try venison again prepared a different way. I’ve learned it never hurts to try something.
Oh and I am super excited because next weekend I am going to Cape Cod, MA and then to Boston! Woohooo Boston!! I’m so super excited about it because I remember loving Boston when I was younger. So if any of you live in Boston and want to meet up for lunch or something I will be in the city next Sunday/Monday. Maybe we can make something happen. It will be fun!
Okay… I want that hat and that vest.
Okay, I know that honey guy! And yes, he usually wears that hat. Glad you tried the game plate. Amy (the chef/owner at Perfect Wife) is really awesome, glad you checked out her place.
I love venison! Looks like a fun day!
I just love hearing about what you do & the pics are so beautiful!!! That sky is awesome! I am in crowded southern CA so not much of that type of beauty! We have other pretty areas but it is not like that! I grew up back east so I really miss the fall! I actually was born in a hospital in Boston! I lived outside there is Melrose for awhile before living in Delaware, NJ, NY and then out here to CA.
All the new foods & exercise classes sound cool! Sad to see people go but I know you will make new friends & enjoy them too!
Sounds like you’re really enjoying your time out there! Your eats look fabulous, and yay on the workouts!! I love yoga… so relaxing! Not a veal person though… *shudder* lol!
I love the guy playing the violin! How fun. Yes, VT pretty much looks the same. I always heard there were more cows than people there! (My Dad lives there.)
I was so happy to get to VT this weekend. The foliage was almost peak where we are but, unfortunately, we worked all day Sat. and it rained Sun. so I wasn’t able to get any good pictures. I love reading about your time in the Green Mountains.
I work in downtown Boston and would love to get together for lunch, coffee, a quick drink or just to meet and say hello. Let me know when you plan to be in the city and we can plan to hook up.
that looks like such a fun time. i love that local honey thingamajig!
@Diane
I really believe there are more cows than people here. It’s such an empty state!
@MB
Oh that would be fun! I’ll email you later this week and hopefully we can connect in Boston! :)
I lived in boston and area for ten years before I moved to CA 3 yrs ago (and lived nearby the whole rest of my life too) so if you have any boston questions, let me know. It’s a great city to visit (though I wouldn’t say, to live) lots of history and very pretty!
Wow–it is sure pretty there. I’ve always wanted to try zumba and haven’t had the opportunity. Do you like it?
I like one photo very much, A man playing violin. I am also feel very tired after a long driving.
I just love reading about your experiences at Green Mountain. I was there for a week about 4 years ago. It was a wonderful experience. I have also been to Peru and just this past August had a delightful dinner at the Perfect Wife in Manchester. Enjoy your time at Green Mountain. You are so lucky!
@Merri
Cool! I’m very excited to visit. I went once when I was younger but didn’t appreciate it.
@Teresa
Yeah I LOVE Zumba. You should definitely try it!
@Christine
