Grrrr.
Ouchies.
Waaaah!
I woke up in pain this morning. I have a dehydration headache that developed overnight because I didn’t drink enough water before going to bed. I knew I needed more water before I went to bed because I already felt thirsty. But it was cold and dark and I didn’t want to get up.
So I went to bed thirsty and woke up feeling like I have a hangover. Or at least the headache part of it. Yes, it’s miserable. Yes, I regret my decision not to get myself more water last night. Yes it will take me a few hours to rehydrate and that means the headache will linger for a couple hours. This doesn’t happen often to me, but it does happen.
Think about your actions.
There are always consequences.
Even to not drinking enough water.
And remember, please, please drink enough water! Don’t be like me and forget or put it off. It hurts you in the end!
It doesn’t matter how you get it in. If you need to drink flavored water then drink it. If you need to add lemon then add it in. Do whatever you need to do!
Drink your water! Drink yo H2O! Guzzle it up. It’s good for your body. It makes it happier because it will function bettter. It will help you lose weight. It will keep you from snacking as much. It will keep your energy levels up. It will improve your workouts. It’s amazing how much water can do for you!
Water is the best!
Just a little public service announcement from me to you. I’ll be guzzling my water if you need me. Bottoms up!
This reminds me that I haven’t been drinking anywhere near the amount of water that I normally drink. It’s been a hectic week and I’ve kinda neglected it… I should know better!
Water is definitely the best. I’ve gotten out of the habit of drinking as much as I should. I need to keep a Nalgene bottle near me at all times and purposefully drain it three or four times a day. I feel so much better when I do drink water; I don’t know why I don’t ALWAYS stay as hydrated as I should!
I just posted about this not too long ago! I totally agree with you ~ drink drink drink water. It’s pretty much all I drink ~ (except coffee). If I slack, I pay for it big time.
Hope you have some water at your bedside tonight!

I will. I normally do. Like I said, this doesn’t happen to me often. But I ended up going to bed without having a full bottle and despite drinking what I had left the decision to not refill was a bad one! More water is always better.
ouch! feel better soon!
amen.
for me LACK OF WATER plus WHITE CARBS = a hangover worse than whiskey :)
Ooh, good reminder! I forgot to grab it this morning!
Great Stuff…
You hit the nail on the head!
Keep up the good work.
Cheers
Coach Cris
I drink my water!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! OK, yes, I drink some coffee too! :-)
Very important to drink your water!
I get a hangover dehydrated feeling when I eat something really sugary before bed (that is, before I went on this almost no sugar experiment), such as candy or ice cream. Fortunately, I didn’t do that much. I always get SUPER thirsty while sleeping, so I keep a drink on the table next to me, and wake up throughout the night to drink it (then I also wake up a few times to pee because of drinking lol). Yes, Im grown up and still have not mastered the art of sleeping the night through. Im drinking water right now! Yay! Oh, check out the cucumber water I had on my regular blog few days ago (last week?). Yum!
I also get up to pee at least three times per night, because I drink a LOT of water. Every time I get up at night, I drink more water. I also drink a liter of water before making my breakfast and then at least two more during the day. I hate being thirsty!
Mary, thank you for addressing the importance of Water. Hydration is one of the most important and quickest way to start to lose weight and gain health. We are around 65+ % water but most elderly are only 15% by the time they pass. You should drink 1/2oz of water (making sure it is filtered – it takes 5 to 7 hours for the body to process nonfiltered water because of the contaminants in it)… anyway, drink a 1/2oz of water per pound i.e. If you weigh 180 then drink 90 oz a day!
I couldn’t agree more. In fact this post and my very recent experience with the same issue made me go out of my corner in which I was lurking for quite a while now ;)
Water is a no-brainer to me. I love it, I drink it and feel good with it. I never really understood the consequences of not getting enough of it. Until today. Due to bad grocery planning I found myself with no bottled water for the whole day. Needless to say, I was constantly hungry and had a slight headache all afternoon. I realized that I could just boil some water and let it cool, just a little too late…
