Hello everyone! I’ve been in a bit of a funk the last few days so I didn’t feel like blogging or connecting via social media. Whenever I’m feeling that way it’s better for me just to take a few days off and let it run it’s course.
Today I’m feeling so much better and back to normal thanks to a few things:
- cardio several days in a row (streak begins again!)
- visiting the huge dog park at Shelby Farms with JuJu
- sunshine and warmer weather finally
- realizing I’m in control of my life
- gratitude journaling
- listening to positive podcasts like Jillian Michaels
- remembering that I choose how I feel
So a few things all combined and I’m coming out of the funky funk.
Remembering that life is good and mind has so many good things in it is a great way to
And now, in case any of you are feeling down and out or in an unexplained funk, have a picture of cheer.
It’s impossible to feel bad when you have that many cute faces staring at you. That’s why I love going to the dog park with JuJu – so much happy there! We saw several Pugs and Boston Terrier’s so it was just like this photo. If you’re a dog person in a funk – get thee to a dog park!
Anyway, I’ve got high hopes for the rest of this week sans funk. Workouts are planned, adventures are scheduled, weather is amazing, and it appears that this will be a very good week!
Thanks for the dog park idea for when I’m in a funk! It seems so simple but I know that both I and Sheba (my dog) would benefit greatly from visiting with other dogs.
It is simple but it really helps. An hour or two surrounded by happy dogs with happy JuJu energy and it’s impossible to feel down about anything.
I know that funky feeling. Cabin fever has set in. Unfortunately, if I go outdoors, I can’t see anything above the piles of snow. At least there’s melting for the next few days.
My workouts for the past few weeks have been shoveling. Yesterday I could not keep up with it. It was a perfect upper body and leg workout. Muscles are sore today!
It’s harder in winter. I generally struggle when it’s cold and gray and not much is going on. Good job getting out there and shoveling for a workout! I used to do that in New Hampshire and I remember it was hard!
“remembering that I choose how I feel”
that was such a small but powerful sentence for me to read. Thank you, friend! :)
Ditto. We choose what we feel. It’s important to remember.
