Puppies, Parties, & Training!

March 19, 2012 by Mary

I wrote this post about recent weekend things and tried to make them all collect into one coherent post but failed. Sometimes I fail majorly at being a blogger but I still like sharing my life with you guys.

Puppy Family

Guess who I saw this weekend?

Juju brother

JuJu’s brother!

He lives with the brother of a friend of ours. We were at their house for a birthday party over the weekend so I got to say hi and play with him. I haven’t seen him since he was around 6 weeks old so it was fun to see him again.

I also learned he is much smaller than JuJu!

JuJu is a beast! A sock collecting beast!

Juju

She likes socks and will scavenge the place for any she can get her hands on. She doesn’t chew them up but just carries them around for a while or builds up a collection until I take it away. Silly dog.

Party Food

So the birthday party this weekend was fantastic. I always love a party that features good food and this one had plenty. My favorites were the chicken wings (possibly the best ever breading) and bbq pork and shrimp fried rice.

Cambodian food

YUM.

I learned this weekend that though I love eating meat I can’t eat anything if I watch it die in front of me. Even mussels.

Mussels

At the party they grilled these and I just could not stand it. I think the whole idea of them suffocating to death just freaked me out and I couldn’t try them after watching it. I’d probably be an awful hunter.

Do any of you like eating mussels? Or other animals/seafood you watch meet their end?

Circuit Training

Over the weekend I didn’t do much that was active other than a good amount of light walking places. I admit I spent most of the weekend reading and even finished the last hunger games book, Mockingjay. So after that I started this week feeling refreshed and I’ve completed two days of this week’s training so far. Circuits are so hard and awesome! I swear I’m sweating like crazy and so tired by the end. I like circuits and will probably end up doing similar types of workouts a few times a week (instead of 6) with some other cardio for the next few months.

How was your weekend? Any big plans for this week?

That bbq looks marv. What is it with dogs and socks?

I can’t watch anything die than eat it. When I was doing my chef training we had to kill a live crab to make a seafood bisque. It turned my stomach I declined to taste test it. The food from the party looks yummy especially the chicken wings.

Wow I can’t believe the difference in those pups! But I always went for the runts of the bunch. I’d have a problem if they slaughtered something furry or with feathers in front of me but fish and mussel like creatures? Get on my plate! :-)

I love the runts but they had already picked him before we got JuJu. It’s okay though because we wanted a girl. Funny we wanted a girl to be smaller but that boy dog is way smaller currently! HA!

Our dog did the same thing with our clothes: find a garment, trot to theiving room and put it down, repeat. He doesn’t do it so much anymore but will still play with a wayward sock for quite a while.

Did you know that puppies lose all of their teeth within a week of each other? I did not know that and thought Hurley had some sort of tooth disease.

I did not know that! I think JuJu is actually losing her teeth now.

LOL Sashi had a sock phase too, but she DID eat them! Like literally tore them up and ate them, so we had to put an end to that as we were afraid she’d get a blockage. Eating socks can’t be healthy!

JuJu won’t eat socks but she loves eating paper and tissues. It’s sorta funny but I can’t seem to get her to stop with the tissues. If she finds one it’s in her mouth immediately being eaten.

Were juju and her brother happy to see each other again, did they remember each other? I do like mussels but I don’t think ive ever seen them die in front of me. I did used to hate when my parents let us play with lobsters and then boiled them alive right after. That seems like torture to me. I am reading this way late because now it’s time for the next wkend. Mine was good, had fun dressing up in green for st patricks day and hanging out w my bff. Then during the week I got sick AND super busy at work and ended up missing my only plan of the week of dinner with people from work. So VERY happy it’s now the weekend again in less than an hour.
