I asked the universe for more travel, and I got it!

Granted, I’m only going a few hours away from where I currently live. And it’s for work reasons so I’ll have to work while I’m there. But I’m going to Nashville for a few days!
I used to visit Nashville often and have considered moving there several times over the last decade. I actually grew up in a Nashville suburb so it’s always been my official hometown and I’ve thought about going back since it’s been booming. Yet I’m quite happy living in Memphis and just visiting Nashville.
It’s been over a year since I’ve really been to Nashville for a good visit. That means I could definitely use suggestions or ideas of where to go. I arrived earlier today and will have a bit of time tomorrow and Friday to go wherever. I’ll also have the weekend to play and my boyfriend will be joining me. We’d love to try out some new-to-us places that are awesome!
I know I have my own favorites from visiting previously, but I’d love to get opinions on where to go from others.
If you’ve been to Nashville recently or live in Nashville, give me your picks!
Food:
East Nashville: Mas Tacos, 5 Points Pizza, Lockeland (reservations suggested) or sit at the bar, Edley’s, Sweet 16th for breakfast sandwich and desserts (closed on Sundays)
Downtown: Robert’s for Honky Tonks, Oak Bar at the Hermitage, Bakersfield, Merchants
12 South/Belmont: Edley’s, Burger Up, Martin’s
Sites: Percy Warner Park, Shelby Park, Pedestrian Bridge, Ryman tour,
I can give you more if needed!
Perfect! Something like this list is exactly what I was wanting! Thank you! :)
I can’t believe I left off one of my favorite places… City House in Germantown. Reservations are recommended, but you can usually snag a spot at the bar.
GIRL!!
It’s so funny that you came back and left this comment, because we had a company dinner at City House and it was legit one of the best dinners of my life. I had a bite or two of everything on the menu and it was glorious. Seriously, so good. I can totally see why you’d love it!
Iced coffee: Barista Parlor, crema, ugly mugs. I particularly love 8th and Roast.
Fatherland street in east nashville is a fun little hipster shopping location. Project 615, a tshirt shop has a new store and I love the tea shop there.
Germantown has temper, a cute chocolate shop. 321 a Chicago pizza place. and The Red Bicycle a great crepe place. Bicentennial Mall is right behind the farmers market and its a nice flat lap with good views of the capital and monuments. I stop there after work a lot to read.
So that’s a build on the other great suggestions. Hope you have fun!
