Supplements to Help with Anxiety

February 4, 2014 by Mary

This post may contain affiliate links. Please read my disclosure for details.

After hitting the gym tonight for my daily cardio, I decided to stop by Kroger and pick up some supplements to help with anxiety.

anxiety supplements

As I’ve read further in Natural Relief for Anxiety, I realized I can also utilize natural supplements and vitamins to help deal with anxiety. It’s a different route that I have never tried before so I’m excited to give it a shot.

Here’s what I got based on recommendations in the book and from some friends:

  • Valerian Root
  • Vitamin D
  • St. John’s Wort
  • Vitamin B (grabbed this instead of B complex so will exchange this)

These supplements will be in addition to other things I’m trying to help control anxiety and mood like daily cardio and no coffee. Step by step I’m working on creating a plan that will work to control anxiety and make things run smoother in my body. It’s all about the ultimate picture of health and a holistic view. I’m kinda excited about trying all these new-to-me things that might help contribute to overall better health. I’ll let you know how it goes!

There is a book called Primal Body Primal Mind where a women writes about suffering from depression/anxiety for 30 years until she changed her diet.Grains particularly Gluten being one of the major factors.Might be helpful.I have found that eliminating gluten has been helpful for me..Another book I found very helpful is Unstuck by James Gordon.Good Luck.

Thanks Irene! That’s a bigger step so it’s probably one I’ll make later if I decide to do it. I’m going step by step! :)

Definitely looking forward to hearing how it goes for you! I struggle with anxiety and am always looking for things that can help. Sounds like a good idea to take the supplements in combination with exercise and little caffeine too.
