Today was one of those very rare days where I take my camera with me everywhere. This hardly happens any more and I don’t know why. But here’s a peek into a day in the life of Mary!
Breakfast on the go: egg, turkey bacon, bread (today but usually it’s a english muffin).
I feel like I’m always on the go. There is a lot of riding and driving.
I rode with my mom to work then took her van to the gym for a quick workout before I headed to work.
I was a sweaty mess after my workout.
But a happy sweaty mess! I love lifting weights!
45 minutes and 342 calories burned. I seriously love my Polar FT7 during workouts.
After a few hours of work I couldn’t wait to eat lunch which ended up being one of my backup burritos in the freezer at work. With some black bean and corn salsa on top. YUM!
Later in the afternoon (right before I left work) we heard about an interesting happening down main street. We walked for a while which made me happy because this is one of my favorite streets in Memphis.
We hopped on a trolley for a few blocks which was great because by that point I was starting to melt. I don’t do well in super hot weather.
And then… we got there. And this was happening…
Yep. It was an interesting crew called The Freakers. They are on a cross country trip stopping in various cities to chill, make grilled cheese sandwiches, and sell beer koozies.
Yep. They make one-size-fits-all knit koozies called Freakers.
I wasn’t in the market for a koozie or a grilled cheese sandwich, but I heard both were pretty good.
Who doesn’t love a grilled cheese sandwich cooked off the back of a truck?
That was… something.
And after work I spent some time sitting on the interstate thanks to a crash. I finally made it home after waiting an extra 20 minutes.
I realized I left my nametag on from The Freakers party. They named me Merigold. I’m not sure it fits. What do you think?
As soon as I got home I took off my Polar heart rate monitor. I wore it for the whole day to see how I did while at work. From the gym to my house I burned a total of 1551 calories. I walked quite a bit today and continued my *bathroom exercise breaks* so that helped with the total. It’s always good to get your heart rate up every once in a while! It’s really easy to wear a heart rate monitor during the day to gauge how often you are getting your heart rate up as well as how many calories you are burning!
So that was my day today. Interesting, right? I enjoyed it! Now I’m off to watch the new season of Project Runway. Have a great night friends!
