Tonight we picked up Chick-fil-A after a long day of work and class. It was my day to grocery shop and plan meals but I’m pushing that to tomorrow since it has been a strange week with my new niece’s arrival.
When we arrived at Chick-fil-A I knew a couple things: I didn’t want anything fried, no sandwiches, and low calorie. That left me with their salad options.
The Chick-fil-A Grilled Market Salad
I chose the The Chick-fil-A Grilled Market Salad without even knowing what it contained.
Turns out, it’s full of 2 servings veggies and 1 serving fruit. I was surprised to see fruit in my salad at first since I wasn’t expecting it.
The salad contains:
- sliced grilled chicken
- chopped romaine lettuce
- baby field greens
- red cabbage
- fresh apples, strawberries, & blueberries
- roasted nut blend
- harvest nut granola
- crumbled blue cheese
I chose avocado lime ranch dressing which wasn’t the best pairing so I didn’t use much of it (which is good because it contains more calories total than the whole salad!). I also chose not to use the granola that came with the salad, though I did use the nuts.

The Chick-fil-A Grilled Market Salad Review
One thing I liked about this salad is that it tasted very fresh. No one likes wilted lettuce or salads you know were made ages ago. This salad tasted and felt fresh.
There was a lot of fruit in the salad in the form of strawberries, blueberries, and apple chunks. While I ate a couple of each, there was too much fruit in the salad for me. I enjoy fruit in my salads from time to time but I usually like the main ingredients to be lettuce, veggies, and protein. The only part of this salad that was left in the end was the “extra” fruit I didn’t want to eat.
The nuts were perfect and I loved the crunchy element they brought to the salad. The cheese added nice depth to the salad but was clumpy in spots so I had to keep breaking it up to avoid giant mouthfuls of strong cheese flavor.
I wish I had chosen a better dressing to go with the salad. The avocado lime ranch dressing is delish and low carb but it is pretty high in calories even when you just use half the packet. I also think this salad would have paired better with another dressing like a vinaigrette.
Overall despite my dressing choices, I enjoyed this salad! I really enjoy dinners that leave me feeling light and fresh rather than wanting to crawl into bed immediately.
