Today was one of those days that kicked my butt.
I started the day with lots of goals including a fitness one: get all green on my Fitbit stats for the day.
Since I want to hit my next two milestones on Fitbit as a measurement of progress, I need to be more consistent in wearing it and being active throughout the day.
Setting that goal worked: I got all green!
Here’s all the activity from today:
- walk at lunch
- paced during a “boring” task at work
- hit the elliptical after work
- walked Juju too!
It was a day full of short bursts of activity that all added up throughout the day.
Normally that isn’t enough to tire me out.
What really got me today was a HUGE adrenaline dump that came when…
I was rear-ended during rush hour traffic.
It freaked me out so much!
Luckily we were not going fast and there was no damage to me or my car, but my body was shaking by the time I stepped out to check and after it was over I felt full of tension and stress for a couple hours.
It took me a while to wind down from that high state and once I did I felt so very tired. There is nothing like a huge amount of anxiety and adrenaline taking you up and then coming back down. It wipes out your energy afterward. I’m surprised I’m even forming complete sentences right now because I’m so tired!
Luckily the fender-bender was a minor incident but this day definitely kicked my butt in the end.
I’m off to sleep thanking my lucky stars that all I am at the end of today is tired!
Wow, so sorry that happened – glad you are okay!!
