This morning I spent two hours at the gym.
Leave it to my heart rate monitor to make me feel so good about myself so early in the morning.
I was supposed to meet my trainer there at 6 am but he couldn’t make it. Somehow I missed all his calls (I’m bad with phones because I never leave mine on ring and usually leave it laying around somewhere else for hours) and didn’t know he wouldn’t be there. When I got to the gym the front desk staff told me he wouldn’t be coming so I decided to work out anyway since I was already there.
It actually turned out to be a great decision. I walked 3 miles in that extra hour before my normal workout. This is actually something my trainer told me to start doing. I’m supposed to walk for an hour a day either in the morning right when I wake up or right after a workout. This is the first time I’ve done it at the right time and it actually was nice. I went into my normal weights workout feeling good (after eating a banana).
I normally spend about 45 minutes working out in the morning or an hour if I do some cardio too. But I might start waking up an hour earlier to do this new walking thing. I enjoyed it and went to work feeling good about myself and the day. I’ll miss that extra hour of sleep but honestly I can still get 7 hours of sleep each night waking up that early with some tiny adjustments. I’ll try it for the rest of the month and see how it goes.
Yep. New plan = 2 hour workout every morning. Win.
2 hours workout sounds deceptive though since 1 hour is just walking. It’s actually pretty relaxing considering I can read and walk at the same time. I got through several chapters of the book I’m reading now: The Lucky One by Nicholas Sparks (first book of his that I’ve ever tried to read). One thing I don’t get enough of lately is free time for reading so this new plan might kill two birds with one stone. And isn’t that what we always want?
Hope you are having a great day dear readers!
now I wanna hire you to do my workouts too :)
maybe just m/w/f?
Haha. I’d workout with you but not for you! ;P
Nicely done!!
I love to take long walks. It is something that I typically do on a daily basis and now I take for granted. Here is what I love about it- its a great opportunity to clear my head, I can read, I can also relax even though I am actively moving my body.
You don’t have to. I probably will though, at least the week BEFORE the wedding. :)
Yeah I liked the walk for the reason. My heartrate never got too high so I warmed up well but didn’t get tired. I think it actually made my workout better – I totally managed more reps of everything! :)
HAHA. Well, yeah. Then better get on it! Or maybe I’ll be nice and go later and workout at 7. ;)
That’s an awesome plan! I love looking at great burns on my HRM – it just makes my day. That’s an awesome burn right there! Great job! Awesome work on the multitasking, too!
I am impressed! :)
