A while ago MizFit talked about her Vision Board. The concept intrigued me enough to create my own immediately after reading her post and a few other sites on vision boards and how they can help shape your future with the law of attraction. Basically by visualizing what you want you will achieve it. Sounds like something I could use, so with some magazine cutouts, glue, and a poster board I created my own vision board.
So you might be wondering what the vision board looks like. Check it out below. You can see that it is not very specific with goals or plans. I wanted a vision board that would inspire me to be the best that I could be in all the most important areas of life, not a detailed roadmap. And this is what I created:
With my own vision board I included a few quotes but stuck with more visuals. I also wasn’t very specific with goals besides my weight one that I have. Other than that I simply tried to include things I love to do and want to do more of in the future. I grouped things together creating categories, or clusters, of aspects of my life.
For instance in one corner is travel. This is one of the great joys and addictions in my life. I love to travel and explore new places. If someone tells me there is an adventure to be had then I want to have it. So I dedicated part of my vision board to the idea of travel and exploration. I want to do much more of this in the future when I have more money and financial security.
In another corner of my vision board is the health cluster. I have images that remind and inspire me to be healthy, eat better, exercise more. I have a picture of the “Crazy, Sexy, Cancer” Girl whose life story inspires me. I have my goal weight included and this blog as well, which although it has seen me through more downs than ups lately is still a source of therapy and strength (thanks to all the awesome comments I receive). It keeps me mentally healthy even if physically I am not doing my best. And that emotional health aspect of my life is as important as any other. My healthy section of the vision board shows me that I will be healthy and happy now and in the future.
There are others smaller parts of my vision board, like the part of love and relationships. One day hopefully I will have a wonderful husband and family of my own. I also will be financially independent and secure, which is a major goal for my future. I included things on my board to remind me of that accomplishment I will one day celebrate. I hate being in debt and currently am trying as hard as I can to get out and avoid it forever. Maybe I should have put a picture of Dave Ramsey on my vision board, hehe.

I love your vision board! Thank you so much for sharing it with us. It’s gorgeous. You’ve obviously put a lot of thought into it.

Love your board! I once did this in a class way back when. I know that vision board will change along the way & with time too as we change based on our experiences. I am amazed with your “if there is an adventure to be had” attitude. I always wanted to be that way but I did not have the courage to go that way. Led a more “normal” life… but there is still time, who knows!
I love the quote on your board, I am the sum of my small steps!
Thx so much for sharing!
Great idea! Thanks for sharing! :)
I’m so glad I found your site! You have a great writing style and I’m going to love sticking around here. About the board — love it. I need to make one and put up a few things on it. I really want a rewarding job that I love — contrary to what I have now.
My vision board is going to focus on that for starters. It’ll also probably focus on being a good husband and father and how I can be a better one in both categories.

Great idea, this is just what I have been looking for to keep me motivated in some parts of my life.
I especially like the “Stop at nothing” and the “don’t hold back” parts. Very Inspiring.

Visualization can be a powerful force for change.
Love your board! Must be a pleasure watching it every day.
I saw something like that a few weeks ago in an episode of McLeod’s Daughters but that was a board of goals/plans in words but that inspired me enough to make one of my own. So mine is in words and I look at it once a week.

Thanks for sharing. This is a great vision board, although it sounds like Dave Ramsey should have had a place on it. Either that or a quote, “I’m Debt Free!!!” :-)

Nice vision board! I have one that mixes both personal and business. I look at it often but it needs to be updated here soon. LOL @ Dave Ramsey comment!
